Don't ever fall asleep at the wheel

that should be on one of those crash impact tapes

Why did you fall asleep? Just tired or medical condition? My girlfriend has fallen asleep three times now while driving and she is unsure if it is medical or just being tired. I drove to florida in 19 hours one way and 21 hours another in one shot yet i never felt the urge to fall asleep while driving. I keep telling her to go see a doctor but she refuses. Suggestions?

I fell asleep because I was tired from doing homework and what not, but what made me really sleepy was the lack of traffic, intersections, and street lights.

I drove down to Tampa Bay last June, 13 hours down non stop, and almost 20 hours on the way back and I didn’t fall asleep at all.

Treads4Heads: As far as your gf, just dont let her drive long distances I’d say. No medical help needed because when you are sitting in the same spot when you’re tired, you are going to fall asleep unless something keeps you awake. I.E. friend, traffic, curvy roads, cocaine (energy drink!), things of that nature.

I’m an old school tough kid, all my life I never let physical pain get in the way, but now its just too much.

I played a football game with a concussion, one time in a basketball game I fractured my ankle and walked it off, broke fingers and just taped them up, tore a ligament and tendon in my throwing arm during a baseball game and got a cortozone shot and kept playing.

Scars > tattos

My arm, back, and shoulder will never be 100%

crazy…but you did not walk off a broken ankle…been there done that… and umm no…you can’t put any weight on a broke bone because…well…it’s in half.
And  to you for not being a pussy athlete… I see it on tv all the time…basketball players break a finger or dislocate their sholder and are out for months…haha:bloated:

Actually I fractured my ankle when I was 16 in a bball game, taped it up and put an active ankle brace on it, played the rest of the game, then went to the emergency room cuz it was so swollen but I didnt care cuz i love(d) sports.

Then in the summer, I tore a tendon and ligament in my throwing arm, got a cortozone shot and played 2 weeks later. A good 10mph came off my fastball but I worked on my bat and ended with a .450 batting average on my team for school.

I’ve done so much damage to my body by being a “tough kid” that I can’t run around the block without major pain, cant throw a baseball hard for more than 10 pitches, and I can barely swing a bat unless you’re trying to rob me.

yea don’t fall asleep at the wheel, it’s not cool. glad to see your ok and your very lucky you walked away. But I’ve been lucky too thank the lord!
