NOTE: I DID NOT BUY A USED TV
Because you will probably get one thats defective, like the one I brought back that they were selling with some BS story about how the guy brought it back due to it being to big for his house… Well thats not the case, it was mine, had black banding going across the screen, and I know it was mine due to my daughters DRAWING ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX.
My Story:
So you guys were busting my balls about my sears exhange policy thread and when I was selling my LCD (the LCD was a great TV for what it was just nothing compared to the Plasma)
I went thru 5 TV’s total, A Panasonic which I could not stand the floating black level The LCD because I just couldent go back to LCD, and the the 3 Samsung C550s which had a real bad issue, this is a picture of the TV with the worst of it. Aside from that an awesome TV
I went to sears with hopes of exchanging for Samsungs more top of the line plasma the C6500 for 1099 (pay 200 bucks more outa my pocket) they had none in stock… Told me rotterdam had one, get down to rotterdam, look at the TV he was trying to sell me, baffled, it was the defective one I returned with banding similar to the picture above (so not only was it not even the right model… ITS FUCKING FUCKED) just no where near as bad but still not good. I told him it was my defective one, he looked at me like a retard and just walked away. I call up colonie, asking if they can sell me the floor model C6500, I had checked it out before we went down to rotterdam with my slides/movie content etc to check for any burn in/banding or defects in general, also went into the service menu and the TV had less than 1000 hours on it. Told me he could not sell a floor model unless the TV was discontiued which it was not, I asked him if there is anyway he can move the price down even a few hundred on the Samsung C7000 (samsungs top of the line plasma thats also 3D, there 8000 is at the very top but its only difference is a “real black filter”) he said give me a few minutes, came back on and told me he would sell me the price of the C7000 for the Price of the C6500 at $1099
I get down there and confirm with him hes giving me a 1600 dollar TV for 1099, he says yeah… THe price actually just dropped yesterday on them, they were at $1999 a few days ago. I asked him about how much room they have to move on price, and he said not much, im actually giving it to you below cost… We pay $1299 for the TV, we only make a few hundred on it. I can see how much frustration you’ve been through and I just want to make it right.
Now that right there is how managers/reps should be. Every other person I talked to gave me attitude told me they could not do shit even after first hand seeing my problems, this guy without flinching helped me out and could see how gratefull I was.
Anyways now my NEW C7000 which unlike 5 previous TV’s right out of the box I have not had a single fucking issue with thank god.
The flash washed this one out:
The brushed bezel which I LOVE over the glossy black which attracts dust like a mofo:
1.2" thick
Dont mind the speaker wires hanging/and being tucked behind the TV, had to move the sides around when I went bigger from my 42" and i still need to move the center up and put the slim wire conduit back on the wall.
