double stacking the head gaskets to lower compression?

yay or nay

my car’s compression is 10:1 right now, what a good amount of people are doing to lower the compression to 8.5:1 they are double stacking the headgasket then their is a copper piece that fits in between the gaskets to help seal…

thoughts on this?

may be good because of the copper!!! are u using head studs!!!

but,do they make a thicker gasket??

but i agee!!

copper gasket, on a alum head and iron block. pita to seal w/ vw’s. maybe if you had shit oringed… but whitey obviously dont. the stock headgaskets are a 3 layer metal. stack 2 of them, and have a nice seal. i know a couple of people who ahve done it this way w/ no problems. i.e. no leaking, nothing.

and gearhead’s opinion dont count, as he still thinks r/t plays a roll in 1/4 mile time :0
