I know you guys will hate on me but just thought Id post up Im heading down to Innovative to finish off the tuning on my Cobalt this weekend. I know its not as fast as most all the cars on the forum but I enjoy it and its fun to just have something to work on for now. Till I can afford the better ones.

Damn dude no need for such insecurity. There’s nothing wrong with a cheap quick car with good potential. Not that they’re really even cheap. :gotme:

His car is pathetic, and I wouldnt throw up on it to put it out if it was on fire and he was inside of it.
:thankyou:
jk cobalt guy, your car sounds pimp
Not to knock innovative at all, they are my ONLY place i will take my car, but for a Cobalt SS, you may want to consider New Era Performance in rochester. They pick up more power then anyone else around here when it comes to cobalts. Mike recently trapped 105 - 106 on motor with stock tires, and near 111 on spray. They can also help you with upgrading the air to water intercooler setup, since stock, the intercooler rests on the radiator.
Give them a call if you want to and just see whats up. If you dont want to head up there, I’m sure innovative can help you out too!

your in good hands
Nitrous gets charge temps down…
thanks for the comments guys.
its not that im insecure, ive just seen the post about the why we hate cobalt ss drivers.
as for new era over innovative. I know new era has experience, but I have heard great things about mike and innovative. I trust him to get the power out of my car. Plus i am in it to support the local guy that easy to get to with questions and help.
But mike at new era has been a great help too when i was having some other issues, they are great guys all together.
well ill let you guys know how things go.
again thanks for all the help. im going to have to start coming up to mighty and meeting some more people
yeah i know the name is horribel too, i just needed something.
Personally I repect anyone who respects cars and has a good time modding them. I chose this car cause for now it was affordable had good aftermarket and I had my GM Supplier discount, made it worth it for now
If your not getting info form cobaltSS.com or CobaltSS.net, and dont do anything related to intenes-racing.com your probally be fine. And have a great injoyable car.
yeah i have called you guys a bunch. Im jake, I was calling to figure out my wide band problem that the previous guy had created. You guys did a great job letting me know what i was looking for and it was all sorted out. I would trust you innovative and I know you guys have a mutual respect. Im sure if there are any questions you will be hearing from me.
definitely keep us updated. can’t wait to see what innovative can do.
Im kind of interested to see what Mike at innovative can pull out of this car. Mike at New Era pulled almost 260whp/235tq out of mine…what mods do you have?? O by the way…cobra heat exchanger is the cheapest/most effective way to lower IAT2 temps for this car, well I guess you could use meth too.
2.79" Pulley, 60lbers, Exhaust and intake. I have a 2.7" pulley modeled I just need time to get it on a lathe at work, when the owner of the company isnt looking
Like a full exhaust or just a cat-back? I would stick with the 2.8 pulley for awhile. I have the Pulley boys 2.8 on my car, and If I recall correctly at right around 7k rpm with a 2.8 pulley the blower is spinning somewhere right at the maximum rated range. Im sure mike will give this car a great tune. Maybe I should have him set my launch limiter in
cat back.
well im back from innovative. I am nothing but impressed. Mike was great, explained a lot answered a lot of questions.
no dyno tuning all street tuning which was perfect thats where the car gets driven daily. The power is back though, my af is right where it needs to be and ill be going back to do a bunch more. we have already been talking about somethings.
Ill get some dyno time and get some numbers but i can tell you the car is back and mike sayd it feels great.
thanks for the help guys
jake

are you serious?
I guess I missed the boat on this thread, but thanks for coming down Jake! I’m glad you’re happy with the way the car runs now.
Joe - Sorry I never mentioned it when I got HP Tuners, but I figured your NA beast would be undrivable with any more power.
Orange SS - Sure I can throw a lower launch limiter on. The same goes for you Jake if you end up wanting one.
Thanks for all the kind words folks. It means a great deal to us.
