ugh… seneca casino what a terrible idea

i hope that a lot of what they is going to happen, actually happens withint he next 5 years. It should look really good if it unfolds the way they say it will

the stuff they posted is the stuff that’s already happening, not what’s in the works.

meh, i lived downtown for 18 months… the crime down there is a BIG pita…

if you park your car on the street overnight, dont expect your windows to be in one piece in the morning…

for sure. but look at my neighborhood; it used to be meh, not enough police presence. Houses get fixed up, area is more affluent, more police presence, less crime, higher cost for homes, more tax money for the city, more development in the area.

the wheels are turning

i like it… i have been preaching this for a while

I work off of Tifft and drive down Rt 5 from the city everyday. It’s really nice to see the area getting worked on so much.

Pretty much everything from downtown to tifft on the water is getting landscaped.

It will take a while, but this will do a world of good.

a lot of stuff recently has curbed my desire to move outta wny, i just hate cold weather

Lets hop the trash in the surrounding neighborhoods doesnt destroy what they build. Hopefully they scale up the Police presence as well.

awesome to hear. to buffalo. i’m really glad to be living here while all this great stuff has been going on. i was gonna check out the beach this weekend, but didn’t get to it… i will soon though!

yea when the weather is a bit warmer I plan on riding my bike over there. I’m not really into swimming so I’m ok without the water. And I realized when i was down in florida a few months ago that it’s just really nice to sit out by the water in the sun with a few beers and some friends

lets burn buffalo to the ground and start up… paint every building pink and make them out of chocolate… mmm i love chocolate.

lol Sean"smart move"Kipp from the Towne Hyundai store already has one of these, 6th floor i think, hes just waiting to move in

Good stuff.

Hoping we will get that concrete skatepark as part of the multi park plan. Still probably going to be another 10yrs. or so by the time all this shit is completed tho.

For the Seneca Casino, that foundation you speak of is for the parking garage that will be connected to the casino building. The parking garage is going up first with everything else to follow. I think most people can agree that Seneca Allegany is quite a bit better than Niagara. From what I’ve seen, Buffalo should be the best! Ive seen concept pictures online for the Federal Courhouse and the Darsky building, both looking very sharp. My biggest interest is the “Buffalo City Tower”. The 40-story, 600ft tall tower that is “supposed” to go in adjacent to the future federal courthouse. If this tower is actually built, it will be the tallest building in buffalo surpassing HSBC tower at 529ft. Check out the link below, its pretty cool looking.

i dont really get a federal courthouse being all glass, i would think there are safety issues.

You’re absolutely right Dre. It’s really incredible how a few good people can turn around a street/area/neighborhood. I bought my house with a lot weighing on my mind. It’s one of the biggest investments you make in your life, and it’s something you really have to be ready for, and in the end you have to be comfortable with what you picked.

The area I bought in is nice, to me, but it’s filled with many renters: not always a great thing. But, having bought this house from a close friend, I had been to the house every week for the last 12 years or so, so I already knew the area and most of the neighbors. I have seen it go through many stages of development. I am proud to say I’ve done a lot with my property (maintenance, renovating, cleaning up, etc.) and coincidentally, have noticed surrounding neighbors starting to take MUCH better care of their places as well. It’s gratifying, people don’t realize what a huge effect they can have on a neighborhood. It’s just too bad more people don’t realize it. Neighborhood activism is an incredible catalyst for improving an area fast. I don’t regret my decision one bit.
