DragnDoor's 1998 Ranger

I set the trends everyone else follows. :rofl

I changed the chain on my dirt bike, so I welded up a section of it into a long dong shifter. The rest I had left I welded into the dick, and put it on my buddys windshield down the road for him to find in the morning on his way to work. lol

New shifter:

Had to move the steering shaft hole on the fire wall up. Thats as high as it can go, its just below the rain tray. Its about 3 inches higher at the firewall from full bind on the joint. Not ideal, but will sufice.

Good idea of what the dash will be like. Simple curved sheet metal dash. venter will have a cut out section that will water fall down to the trans hump. stock ranger cluster will be cut down and flushed into the drivers side, air gauges and cd player will go into the waterfall section in the center. I might weld on a big metal spike on the passanger side in place of the air bag, but thats still up in the air.

rim size means nothing. a 15 inch rim with the right tire on it is as tall as a 20 or maybe even 22.

i like the cragars.

Delux 69’s!

My question was 100% valid, rim size can effect how low the truck can go.

no it cant. overall tire diameter determines how low the truck can go, not just the rim size.

for example. a 15 inch rim with a 275/60 on it is about 28" tall. a 20 inch rim with a 255/40 is also about 28" tall. rim does not matter, overall tire height matters which is determined on what tire he runs.

just because he wants the look of 15 inch rims with a nice side wall does not mean the truck cant lay out on “big rims”

Well I know tire size matters but when it really comes down to the smallest tire you can run on a rim and you still cant go low enough, you’ll have to get a smaller rim.

it will lay out with anything lower than a 26" overall diameter however you want to look at it. anything bigger will be above my hood line as well as my bed sides. and i hate the look of something laid on big wheels sticking out. plus i want it to be different from all the other mini trucks out there with bright paint and big rollers, so im thinking oldschool

the 18s i used to have were under 26. you make be able to get a 20 under that two, but i wouldnt on these roads lol.

I got them 20’s… they aint 20’s… nahhh they 10’s but I keep them clean tho.

id go the the delux’s!

Rear - Smoothie
Front - Deluxxx

actually a cool idea^^^

will final color be white? if yes the delux’s would look good the color they are in the picture. after looking them over im digging the delux’s the most.

mike we may have a new toy to bag sooner than i thought

You got the truck back!!! FUCK YEA

going semi satin black, not totally matte, but not gloss.

Damn thats a good idea. time to bust out photoshop.

at first i didnt like the idea of the two rims… but i forgot you said you were going to paint them. lol. it would be neat, lugs on the front rims not on the rear rims.

Yeah kind of like the old skool rods with crazy rear end swaps. The ass end should be able to get a 10" wide tire back there too. even though you wont really see it.

Mike im dropping my ranger off next week. I will fill teh bed full of beer

Please let me know when its done

RGR that. I will get on the cnc plasma table and start cutting out the weld in cooler panels for the bed.
