My 5 Speed swap is pretty much a success. Swap completed, wiring done. I have put a few hundred km’s on the system, & the only thing I have to work out is a rumble from the drive shaft, particularly at the high end of each gear & at top speed, say 60 miles per hour ++.
I predict the drive shaft has to be balanced, or it is bent, or the yokes are kaput !!!
Is this a common experience with junk yard swaps???
Anyone know a good drive line shop in Scarborough?
Has anyone removed the two piece system & replaced with a one piece drive shaft???
its not aligned properly, if you didnt mark the shaft and the diff when you took it out, you’re gunna have to do trial and error until you get the right balance.
Out of balance some how perhaps. As for marking the shaft/diff thats BS. I’ve had mine off to many times to count and have never marked it once and never once have I had any noise or vibrations.
yes that matchmark/allignment stuff is likely not the issue. What likely is the issue is your centre differential bearing. The big rubbery thing where the two pieces of your driveshaft connect together.
