Drove the Tail of the Dragon This Weekend

Well this past weekend, I drove to Tennessee in my Conquest for the annual StarQuestClub.Com Starion/Conquest meet, in Pigeon Forge. Had a great time, and on our “things to do” list, was to drive on Rt. 129 “Tail of the Dragon”, taking you up to Deal’s Gap on the top of a very tail mountain. The road is VERY twisty and hilly.

Fortunately, www.killboy.com got a camera shot of us pounding thru the mountains. I am 3rd in line, red Conquest with license plate in the window. I feel special that they finally got a picture of us on the net, after roughly 3 years of driving the dragon.

There are about 4 other photogs on the dragon as well, worth checking them out too.

Yeah I’ve checked others, but have not seen anything as of yet. If any of you have not experienced the Dragon, I suggest booking a vacation in the Smoky Mountain area sometime, and try to Tame the Dragon…that road punishes car and driver. It’s like a great big Auto-X.

IMO, the roads around the Dragon are far better than the dragon itself.

That said, the track > that POS death trap :wink:

It looks better then it did 2 weeks before the photo…Trust me.

It’s worth it.
