Tail of the Dragon

So a couple friends and I went down to the Tail of the Dragon this past summer. I can now cross this off of my “To do before I die” list.

Starts off a little slow, but once we pass the spot where the guy went over the edge things start to pick up a bit. Watch for the www.killboy.com corner where they take pics of every car/truck/bike that goes by and sell the pics online. Also check out the spot where I pass someone then get passed later on.

ps: what tags do you use to embed a video?

That looked fun. Actually sat through the whole thing. Close call coming around the corner, and the cop being right there, lol.

Dope video, man.

where is that??

That road is amazing…

Btw is that your ABS light on?

Where is that road???

looks like it would be a wicked 2am run…
waaaaaaay too much traffic/cops during the day for my liking.
its too well known of a spot to actually “drive” but a nice afternoon cruise for sure. good vid

That road is infamous, I’ve heard so much about it.

It runs through a provincial park, right? Can’t remember which one. I feel like it’s near Ottawa. But I’m probably mistaken. That is definitely on my list for this summer

Awesome vid Theo!

thats a killer video man, heard about this before but never actually knew what it was like,

son cruise meet to the tail of the dragon lol

Dan you’re wrong. it’s in the US, although IIRC (at work, didn’t check H’s link), it does run through a state park.

Mad infamous, I wanna drive it just to say I drove it, but from watching videos in the past, I have roads up here that are in the same caliber, with less traffic, and no cops.

thats insane i want my bumper on that tree lol

good video, we need more posted like this good sounding ka-t too

man 5-0 everywhere!
but that place looks nuuuuts

Thanks, and yeah it’s in the states. It is 11miles long with 318 turns and as you can see they are not large curves. Most of it is in 2nd gear, with short upshifts into 3rd. Driving it hard, you are pooped at the end… we didn’t even want to go back and do it again, but after dinner we had to, it was the only logical way out. I have that vid too, but it’s not as good… in the dark it is not as fun, you can’t see anything because your headlights are never pointing in the direction you need to go plus with the elevation changes you can’t see which way the road goes next.

It’s in Smokey Mountain National Park, with one end in North Carolina and the other end in Tennesse.

theo you probably scared the shit out of the old man in the sebring vert at around 13 mins in the video

Here are a couple of pics

I copied this pic in 2004… long dream has finaly come true!!

The group of us at the end, the S2k is supercharged now, the MX3 has a KLZE and the Prelude is my buddies beater to keep the km’s low on his '07 Mustang GT

aswome pic’s

i cant believe how few signs there are to tell you turn directions and approx speeds.

Also, it sounds like you were running shitty tires, they are squealing in moderate corners.

^^^ then ppl would tear it up harcore, cause u’d be able to setup 4 each corner, no sign’s make ppl cautious
