Yeah, the tires were complete ass… and I had my VLSD still… I didn’t want that to be the Tomei’s maiden voyage haha. But the video doesn’t give a very good indication of speed… I was at the brink of concentration for the latter parts of it.
It is about 12 hours to get there from here.
Oh, and about the limit and corner signs… There are only one type of corner and only one safe speed… tight, and slow! The only thing that changes is if it’s a right or left and 30mph is the limit.
In '07 the cops were patroling US 129 very heavily, to the point where the local tourism all but died. The locals complained about that, so for '08 the cops really backed off. The reason there were so many cops when I was there was because of the accident that you can see at the beginning where a bike went over the edge. So all of the cops were busy.

People will say that there are roads like that near their house or up north, but there is nothing that even comes close to that in north america… 318 turns in 11 miles equates to 29 turns per mile!

Thanks man, yeah it was pretty fun, we also continued on all the way to the south coast, through Mobil Alabama to Dauphin Island where we had a few pops at our fire and camped the night. The night before and a couple nights after we chilled at my buddy Mark’s place (S2K guy) in TN.

Some of Katrina’s damage is still there. This used to be a nice beach. You could also see some of the newly built oil rigs out in the ocean.
On our road trips, we always map out the route excluding as many interstate highways as possible

It’s a pretty neat little spot and the whole culture built around it. While we were up the road a bit grabbing some food, we saw and heard all kinds of un-plated blacked out bikes. One guy drove by in a busa and all you could smell was race gas! I’m sure there are a lot of photo’s Killboy does not post on his website.
Yeah, that would be nuts! It’s too bad though, that there is not a real good spot to reroute traffic to… for a lot of people, it’s the only way in or out, as we found in our attempts to get back to the highway.
I video’d the night run back down aswell but the camera was having focusing issues and it’s not worth uploading… plus I was at the back of the pack

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Onboard videos don’t show speed well at all, so by knowing that you can tell you’re going pretty fast in that video, and you can hear it too. Beautiful sounding KA-T btw.

Martino, that was where the killboy.com guy took the pics of us. There was a guy from that corner that met me at the bottom on an R1, he came up to me and said he was impressed at seeing a car rip it up like that. I thought he was going to give me shit about crossing into the other lane (which is one of the biggest cause of accidents).
