Dry Cleaners....

Anybody else wear starched shirts to work?

I paid $2.50 last time, because I didn’t ask first. Screw that. I just called around and found between $1.69/shirt up to $2.50 in Murrysville/Monroeville.

My Uncle said he pays $1.50 at this place in the suburbs of Philthadelphia, but he shopped around before finding that one.

Out of curiosity I called a few places in Los Angeles, since our cost of living is supposed to be so great here…pretty much the same. This Chinese lady in Redondo Beach said $1.89.

Anywho, does anybody have a good place to get them done that isn’t a rip?

The ones for $2.50/shirt sucked, they weren’t even stiff, and I asked for heavy starch. I have learned with this industry, that you don’t necessarily get what you pay for.

I have been going to Red Cap cleaners for about 6 years now. I get medium starch every time and never had a problem. 1.89 a shirt, and i forget the price on pants. But i spend about 60 a month on dry cleaning. It makes the clothes last, and I just hate ironing.

I goto Red Cap Cleaners too, in Noble Manor. They do a really good job. The only gripe i have is the last time I took my shirts down there the one came back and almost all of the buttons looked like a dog chewed on them. I don’t know what the hell happened but luckily it was one of the cheaper shirts I had and the buttons are all there.

I think I got 4 dress shirts and a blazer cleaned/pressed/light starch for $13.

yeah thats where i go too… I have only had that happen once to a shirt. not sure what caused the buttons to break down like that.

Thanks for the input, sounds like a decent joint.

However, that’s a pretty long drive for me, so I’m going to keep grilling these queers out east until I find a good one.

where are you at?

Murrysville

We use Ruby’s Cleaners in Monroeville. I haven’t ever had a problem with them, speedy turn around, and they have a “drive thru” valet type service (if you are too lazy to get out of your car lol) I think they are reasonably priced, but to be honest, I just pay them, I don’t look at how much things cost to clean, b/c to me, any price is good as long as I am not the one pressing/ironing!

It’s behind miracle mile beside the giant eagle/target, catty cornered from the Old Stone Church.
