Yeah, I just paid $220 for that lens, so when I saw the deal on slickdeals I IM’d it to him since I knew he was looking. That’s a hell of a deal.
could of bought my d40x with a bag + extra battery for less than that.
But without the nice 55-200 vr lens.
And unless you’re making prints bigger than 10x13 the D40 is probably the better camera from the reviews I’ve read.

I’ve seen that review before too, but when you get into cropping, editing, and blowing pics up, it’s good to have the extra resolution that the d40x has.
I print 13x19’s on my printer and 6MP doesn’t get the job done as well.
the difference between 6 and 10MP is fairly substantial.

6.1? It’s an ok deal with the Vr lense. Dell has the Cannon XTI 10.1 for about $485 or something.
yea… read non biased reviews, like dpreview.com - d40x has more than just a MP advantage on the d40
edit: d40 is a perfectly fine cam tho - and that price w/the extra lens is sweet. sell me the lens for $50 
edit2: reading that review his main gripe is sync speed… which is just… stupid, they are bigger images… of course its going to take longer. But again, whatever they are both awesome cams for the price.
handled the rebel’s and I am not a fan… I really like Nikon camera’s and more so there lenses seem to be highly regarded, not saying cannon isn’t good just Nikon was the choice for me.

So, if I get the same D40 and lens through Amazon I won’t see the discount until the very end after my CC info is in? I don’t see the $100 off advertised anywhere.
When you add the D40 with the 18-55mm and then add that lense seperately and go to the cart it should show the discount. If not it may have ended.
