DSM = diamond star maserati

i was behind a older yellow lebaron yesterday, then i relized that the chrysler pentagon had a fork in the middle. it wasn’t a lebaron, but a a Chrysler TC… a joint production between Chrysler and Maserati. it was neat :kekegay: anyone know anything about these?

they’re expensive to fix?

the lebarons had the mitsu motor

ehhhh

i’m not a fan

 ^

reminds me of the cadillac Cimmaron craze, it looked like exactly like a cavalier.

it was a cavy in a cadillac dress!:hs:

for 5,000 more :bowrofl:

there arent too many cars from the 80s that looked very good, esp. a glorified lebaron convertible.

not a looker, just a rare/weird sighting. i wonder how many were made?

pretty rare car actually

It’s the Chrysler TC by Maserati.

As pointed out above, the worst of both worlds…

these things had either the 2.2L 8V turbo II engine found in quite a few late 80 chryslers, the 2.2L 16VDOHC 5 speed Maserati engine, or the mitsu V6. definitely a rare car to find, especially one with the maserati engine. i almost bought one at the goodwill auction about 3 years ago.

7300

From the back pic it kinda looks like a older cougar

just to clarify, this was definitely the TC… i just said lebaron to give ppl a jump off point for what it looked like.

i google searched the car and the internet was hating on it :kekegay:

Maserati also worked closely with Chrysler, now headed by de Tomaso’s friend Lee Iacocca. Chrysler purchased part of Maserati and the two jointly produced a car, the Chrysler TC by Maserati.

arent most maseratis cars junk? especially the Bi turbo’s ???
i’m talkin about 70’s 80’s years

I beleive i’ve seen this car before.

Yes-- especially when you have to work on a customer’s bi- turbo that he thinks is really something special, but in reality is a roached- out turd.

If you want a real challange get hold of a Maserati wiring diagram-- I guarantee you’ve never seen anything like it. I had the pleasure of doing so when I had to repair the power window circuit on an '81 Quattroporte.

I hated working on Ferrari’s too. Complete clusterfucks. Give me a Porsche anyday.

the maserati dohc 16v engines had forged pistons, rods, crank and a little ihi turbo. they had their own unique getrag tranny too. super hard to find parts for and very limited number made.

thats big pimpin right there
