Dumb comments from car dealers.

but i love my micropolished cams

crank too. All journaled surfaces

Haha seriously. What do all of you expect?

I just hate when car dealers try to make things up or BS something.

if you dont know, just say “I’m not sure about that, I’ll go check up on it for you”

this one really pissed me off today…

Senior Tech at Mike Barney Nissan told my gf’s dad that the numbers he for for my compression…“oh yeah, they’re fine…nothing to worry about”

:bsflag:

the numbers that this senior tech stated were good are as follows:

cylinder #1 - 130psi
cylinder #2 - 140psi
cylinder #3 - 122 psi
cylinder #4 - 126psi
cylinder #5 - 131psi
cylinder #6 - 132psi

stock perfect compression on a tt is 171psi, bare minimum compression that should be driven with is 128psi (Ashe says 121psi is also acceptable, but the senior tech wouldn’t have been going by Ash’s opinion, would he?)

also, it is said that no two cylinders should be more than 10psi apart from each other…

i have two cylinders below 128psi, and the difference between my lowest and highest was 18psi…a bit more than 10 i would say…

finally…the guy advised my gf’s dad that it was best to do the compression test cold… :bloated:

Z1, suprisingly, talked it over with me, asked if i could get another test done, only with the car warm like they initially asked me to…and they admit that the numbers do seem low, and once i get the warm test done they will be more than willing to work something out with me, so that’s a plus i guess…

edit:

i’m also noticing here that not ONE dealer/sailsman is ever willing to admit when he’s wrong…never admits somebody might know something more about a car than he does…and rather always has to bullshit his way, and if you dont like it…you can leave…

fuck that attitude, maybe they should realize that they’re sailsmen, not mechanics…and that if they knew as much as many of them claim/act to know, they wouldn’t be selling the cars, but would be fixing them…or in some cases, they think they know so much…i dont know why they dont just help design the cars pre-production…

if a dealer employee EVER was willing to accept that he/she was wrong, suck it up, admit it, and apologize, i dont think i’d be able to purchase a car anywhere else… (unless i found somebody that claimed to know everything, and actually did of course)…

yea they let me drive the ws6 for like 6 blocks then the dumbass salesman remembered that he forgot to put the dealer plate on it. lol. It was a young guy that and he told me to get on it a little bit to hear the aftermarket exhaust, well i did and after the tires stopped spinning we went back to the dealership
