Vintage footage from car shows past at dunn tire

I’ll be there tonight with the sled to see how slow it is on an unprepped track lol

I’m going up. Might run the Evo a pass or 2 just to mess around.

ill be there for a few test passes

Haha lets line em up!

Good luck. Hope you finally get some vids up. Moving stuff into the new house for the next couple days. Maybe I’ll go next week…or soon thereafter.

Still waiting on tires/wheels/Coilovers :frowning: need to get some practice runs in here before I head to nyi

Have more mods to throw on next week is a big possibility for me.

Sled was quick, shitty track or not. I loved the bar stool racer, funny as hell. What’d the yellow SS cobalt blow out?

don’t know if anything was recorded lol, made plenty of passes though

thanks, was about a tenth slower then last night at test and tune though lol. was definitely spinning a bit today.

Sled was cool as hell.

First night of the year… need to get the SRT out to see what it will lay down. Anyone else gonna go out that wants to run?

based on their facebook page updates there is a ton of new work being done there. I know they repaved a shit ton of the oval, hopefully the strip itself too. who else wants to go see what’s new there?

I thought their first night for the drag strip is Friday? Who’s running the cruise night this year?

Just looked and they’ll be using the strip and charging $5 per run. Also looks like there is no radio station or group attached to the cruise night: Facebook

I may run the car depending how froggy I feel

id like to get into running my sled, mines a 600 but it seems like it would still be fun, rollers, track and a different cooling system? if you have any info point me in the right direction!

What sled model is it? that can impact how easy it is to swap over. you can still have fun on a 600 running 1/8th mile. I’m pretty sure there’s a couple 600’s that run at Lancaster.

its a 12 600 tnt e tec

that has a 2.86 pitch track doesn’t it? if that’s the case you’ll need a new drive axle with some 2.52 pitch drive sprockets to match the asphalt tracks. the shorter 121 is harder to find, esp in a 15" wide. you’ll most likely end up with a 10.625" wide so you’ll probably need to use a different rear arm to move idlers in. I use a firecat arm in my cfr with no rear shock or springs in the skid…only adjust with front skid shock and limiters. I run the 10.625x128 with 8" rear idlers. cool down system is easy…mod the thermostat to stay locked open or get a bypass kit. cpc connectors for the cooldown are cheapest direct from manufacture.

I have no idea how much the etec ecu will like warm weather.

total cost I am into the asphalt setup for around $1500 but a good chunk of parts were used and at that cost I also got the expertise of the guy I bought the parts from in helping setup my sled… but he has did well when he was racing and was racing with guys like glenn hall.

look up the asphalt drag pages on facebook, some of the skidoo guys may have better info or parts that you may need.
