BTW, tjz28…it ended up being a very competent setup on the track, better than I had expected…so she’ll be racing much more next season. Best time so far was 1min23sec on BeaveRun North Course.

I’m not surprised, they make great track/AutoX cars with a few subtle mods. If I wasn’t a RWD junkie I’d probably have one.

Fall/Winter '07 300+whp turbo build has begun, I’ll update as much as possible.

Well, new plans for the winter hiatus. Motor will be getting rebuilt and will be using a set of GSXR 1000 ITB’s (Thanks Joe) for next season. It’s going to be interesting setting these up and tuning them.

I started porting/polishing the modified GSR intake manifold flange to clean up some weld/misalignment issues. Here is a teaser pic of runner #4 before and after:

After 1 session of reshaping, still need to smooth and polish:

There will be a limit to how smooth I can get the floor of where the extension and the runner meet…if I smooth it completely I’ll go through the weld. With butterflies less than 200mm from the valve face though, it won’t matter too much I don’t think Will post progress as I go.

I delt with Derek before…real cool dude and I saw his work…the boy has skills.

I haven’t updated this in quite a while….here are the details of this years build. As of right now everything is back into the car already….waiting on extended IM studs and that is pretty much it. This should net me a much more useable torque curve than last years 180whp build…which was the entire point of screwing with it……well that and the fact that I spun the #1 rod bearing on the last lap of the last track session of the year. Luckily I didn’t drive it home, and the crank was just lightly scuffed. Looking forward to the ’09 season……

Lots of other odds and ends went into it, including the FLP shifter I waited two fu cking years for. Shift knobs level with dash vents FTW, lol. Plan is to tune and cornerweight in the next month, full shakedown most likely won’t happen until March or so. Also plan to stop running Azenis for auto-x this year….they haven’t been the fast tire for a year or two now….RE-01R’s for this year should work nicely, especially since the StarSpec is getting tough to find in my particular size and this years new releases aren’t going to hit the market until at least May. Before anyone points out that these cams aren’t ideal for 12.5:1…I’m well aware of it…not touching the head until the fall.

Sorry I sold mine awhile ago. Unless I decide to pawn off my current set of RE01s. Wasn’t really planning on it since I won’t be in STS much next year, so the need to have the lastest & greatest tire isn’t something I have to deal with right now. Still I keep a eye out for you.
