I’ve also wondered for a while how dynos can get away with quoting SAE HP.
While I know they mean it has been “corrected” … SAE HP has to be witnessed by an impartial engineer
.
But it’s stuff like this that burns my bisquits (not the hardware, but just dyno habits in general)
In the video, clearly, you can see the car noses over 1,000 SAE(?) hp. But HKS has had the car on a roller dyno lay down 1,360 hp with no changes to the car (according to Import Tuner).
HKS claims 1,600 hp for the car.
I know inconsistencies are common, but what gives … 600 hp went missing?
Nice that it managed to boil over too. I guess when the car only needs to last for a couple seconds down the 1/4…
