Dyno Day 10am-6pm (maybe later) Friday 8/28/09

Will bring our customer’s T-tC back on 12 PSI this time. 5 just didn’t cut the mustard for him. Lot’s more additives this time…LSD, wheels, tires, more boost…Should be fun!

Thanks Mike!!!

Sounds good Paul!

I might make it before I do a pulley swap and up da boots

Hey Mike, what time do you guys officially start this on Friday?

Would I be allowed to change pulleys on the dyno?

10am Paul.

Deathproof you have about a minute between pulls. There are some cars where a pulley swap is that quick, but most take a lot longer.

I might try to squeeze in there early then. I have 4 boost settings on this car now. LOL

Definitely running 12, but can’t figure out if I want use the one pull for one of the lower ones…Decisions, decisions…LOL

just took off of work

I would definitely run the small pulley if that was the case.

Even though it’s not I still might come with the few extras pounds of boost.

i would def like to take a few pulls on the dyno. not looking for great numbers just want to see where im at. I think there might be a small amount of breakup in the upper rpms and the graph will prolly show it. NO nitrous yet lol still need it hooked up and tuned lol

new clutch is in  im there

deathproof, what do you have that you talk about “high hp of the day” in both shop’s dyno day threads?

on a side note, almost done putting the new gears in the rear axle. so as long as this rain holds off enough i will be there. (rain > no hood and no traction)

It’s a boosted V8, it’s not that crazy but I know a lot of times dyno days don’t bring out the super high horse power cars so I was hoping for a shot at getting free dyno pulls.

how do you pickup RPM info on a Coil on plug vehicle?

sounds like fun to me. hope to see it there.:burnout:

It’s about cheap dyno pulls and hanging out so I don’t want to discourage guys with lower power cars from coming out. I’m looking forward to seeing how your truck is doing though.

Cool.

On standard trannsmission cars and and ones with DSG boxes I use wheel speed. The principal is simple…if you know a car’s gear ratio, and how fast it’s going, you know what RPM the engine is at.

To accomplish this you put the car in the gear you’re going to pull it in and drive it up to a set RPM, then tell the dyno when you’re at that RPM. That gives it a speed vs. RPM value which allows for accurate calculation of all RPMs while you’re in the same gear. As long as the car doesn’t spin it works beautifully.

With true automatics you have to be a lot more creative.

Yup I’ll Be there and i’m slow… :bloated: Hopefully the clutch doesn’t start slipping anymore then it is so i can get a decent pull in.

 I may swing by on lunch to say hi

I won’t be there untill sixish…

i might bring my moms car over pending weather once i get home from school
