wow
congrats Matt, those are some mean numbers
Actually it didn’t stop at 5200, for some reason the graph cut off there? On my tach it was up to 6000.
It appears power production was all done by that point. If you look at all the SR20 power numbers you will see 4th gear is not bad for stock parts. Power dies before speed cut.
Man on man, this takes a while to go through all of the charts. Better be thankful
Scott (TyPhOOn) Silvia:

That’s a great post.
nice layout
i say i get the award for the dirtiest engine.
Aaron, thanks for going through all the data and posting the pics. I probably should have come in after Reid’s Spec V cuz I kinda cheated by pulling in 3rd gear
Rob, if you get the dirty engine award, I want the rusty wheels and fenders prize!
Jared, did you start a thread on the Apex forum that you wanted us to add to?
I’d like to thank Adam and Travis for being very gracious hosts and great dyno operators.
I would like everybody who felt likewise to a thank them on there Apex modified forum.
If you could post a link, I’d add my 0.02
Very nice numbers!
Question: What is it about Evan’s car that gives him significantly more peak torque than Aaron’s and Scott’s cars?
Nice! 8)
Now everyone bring it to the SCC in Sept and lets kick some ass…Nissan Style!
(I bet with a little work that little Micra could be a quick little car, looks like it weighs next to nothing!)
Question: What is it about Evan’s car that gives him significantly more peak torque than Aaron’s and Scott’s cars?
1.2 bar, if I remember correctly
- Mike
Scott has a 1.8 so that should explain it’s deficiency. Most boost at peak torque rpm as Mike suggested is the cause for Evan’s mountain. Aaron had some detonation trouble which prevented full power.
Amen!
Too bad we won’t likely have enough Z32s to make a team of four. But I’ll be up for anything. We should be able to enter at least two teams of four Nissans from NECC altogether, hopefully more.
Anyone remember how many teams we had last year?
Thanks again to Aaron, Jared and the Apex boys for putting a great NECC dyno day!
Shouldn’t I get some sort of award for the least powerful car with the most factory boost award… hahaha?! I was told by Adam that the March was putting a steady 14/15 psi when he was doing the runs.
Regards,
Dave
But hey You don’t need alot of HP for that thing, do the math I bet you come in first on HP/Kg ratio or damn close to it.
Yeah, you like that? lol. Man, it took a while to go through everyones charts, pick out the highest numbers, compare them to all, then put them with the photos. Glad you like it.
Yeah, Evan’s huge torque is kinda a mystery, but could be related to his 17psi pulls.
As for mine, like Jared said, I was detonating like crazy, so we played it safe and lowered the boost.
Everything went real smooth at the event, and I’m pretty proud.
Jared started a thread on the Apex forum to let their visitors know what a great job they did hosting the NECC Dyno Day. If you want to add your comments please follow this link:
I felt bad about missing the NECC Dyno day, so I figured I’d post up my numbers from today. I think some people might hate me after they see these.
1984 300zx Turbo - 247.71whp, 354.11wtq.
Yes you did read that correctly, that’s 354 rear wheel lb/ft of torque.
The red run here was at about 11.5-12psi, the blue run was at 12.5-13psi.
I witnessed this with my own eyes. Good job Matt.
Thats awesome Matt.Have to kick some ass at SCC now.
