Ah. Boost is tapering half a pound and airflow is increasing all the way to 8000 rpm. I wouldn’t call that falling off.
Yeh i looked up the stats on the turbo, its hard to find anything about borg gm-8’s since there an older turbo, however i was able to fine a rebuild kit and rebuilt it b4 the tune.
The compressor is said to be .70 and the turbine is said to be .60 supposedly good for approx 500hp depending on which vehicle, setup, etc. that it is in.
And about the ebc, thats a great idea. Id love to do that but really dont have the money this year…Its DEF going to be a thought for next year though…
no , its not, its actually pretty good, but with boost by rpm, you could make the tq stay flat across and give an overall powerband, but i understand you can only tune what you are given
Do you have a graph of the boost curve on the crx mike? id be interested in seeing that…just for comparison reasons…
holy shit, i did not expect that much out of the TT-350Z, i knew it was modded but did not expect 600+ whp
nice car man
I want a built motor too.
gah, you’re making me wish I still had the built block / APS kit Grrrrrr
I understand what you’re saying and PWM control can be very useful, especially in conjunction with a good traction control system on traction limited cars.
In this case I wouldn’t want any more boost up top because the intercooling was lacking. On the top end it wasn’t making more power with more boost once we got to this point and it wouldn’t have been safe on the street because of heat soak. If it had PWM control I could have boosted low/mid range boost and torque higher safely, but this car has enough wheelspin already.
We didn’t hook that one up to MAP sensor on the dyno. I actually didn’t need to for tuning purposes on any of these cars since I can log boost on all of them out of their ECUs.
I have the CRX’s boost logged in Crome Pro. I’ll give you some data points:
4000 rpm 4.5 psi
4500 rpm 9.5 psi
5000 rpm 16.0 psi
5500 rpm 17.0 psi
6000 rpm 17.0 psi
6500 rpm 17.4 psi
7000 rpm 17.6 psi
7500 rpm 16.6 psi
8000 rpm 16.8 psi
8500 rpm 16.3 psi
WOW. Congrats to everyone whos car was run. And big congrats to the Innovative crew.
Wish I could have been there.
^^^great numbers and powerbands…looks like mike has this thing running peachy for you jay=)
saw the Z there today, the car looks great in person
yea curious what we can get it to with the new clutch…i really should be having another ~30hp on tap with the mods i have, compression all came back great and no boost leaks so we’ll see. but yea the powerband is great and its all very usable
 to Mike for a good tune! Also the crew at Innovative were great especially Justin for taking care of my car. I would recommended to any one that has big project for their car to go to Innovative.
damn that z is nasty. the 600+hp came out of no where, wasnt expecting that lol.
is the clutch really hurting jays s14 that much?
seems like its a lil down on power
i gotta hit the dyno up one of these days
yea i can’t even floor it anymore in any gear without it slipping now lol as soon as ~4000rpms hits it slips
damn that sucks.
at least sr clutches are easy to change.
should lay down some nice numbers if its slipping that bad
That Z looks just like Dirty Dave’s. Good numbers!!!
