hopefully this photo shows up

E28 M5… as it sits, hit in the rear passenger side… otherwise reasonable derivable shape.

i think these, along with the already appreciating E30 M3, are good investment cars to restore to drivable shape and then hold on to for a while.

the guy is going to cash out on his repair (not a total loss so no branding) and is willing to sell it to me for a great price (probably not going to discuss that here :))

your guys thoughts?

How rare are these?

I’ve seen a few in the WNY area. The S38 is a sweet motor. My 1991 M5 was a fun car and people seemed to appreciate what it was.

As far as E30 M3 caliber, Im not sure they are there yet. If it’s a deal, go for it, but I wouldn’t anticipate it being the best investment

pics of damage? It’s hard for me to say whether or not it’s worthwhile without a sell price, but I understand why you wouldn’t want to disclose here.

I hope you buy it, sell it, and make some $ so every faggot on here will cry that you’re making so much money/you should let someone buy it who wants to keep it, etc etc.

100%

Spot on, +1.

If you want it because it’s a cool old M5 that you could probably pick up, enjoy for a bit then get out of for about what you paid+put into repairs do it.

If you’re doing this purely as an investment I’m sure you can find better returns looking at non-car investments.

Flipping cars can be pretty lucrative, and with Bings connections in the industry, I am sure he can get good price on work that needs to be done.

it looks pretty clean - if its cheap enough i say do it.
It looks great, has nice wheel choice IMO, and looks good w/ roof rack.
I think its an awesome “old” daily if its reliable and MT.

yes

i could go either way. if i get it (which i think i will) i’ll get it drivable and make sure i enjoy it a little bit.

this is the only E28 M5 on ebay recently: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M5-Sedan-/141698724885?forcerrptr=true&hash=item20fde6f415&item=141698724885

$24k in pretty good shape. that’s $30k cdn… i’ll be no where near that even after a full resto on this thing.

Hmm, it would be nice. Depends on damage and your plans. Clean example or something fun?

you can find cheap 5 series parts all over i’d buy it

just hope you dont have to rebuild the motor

isnt that when you pop in the M5 V10?

exactly

Except that’s not an E28 so it’s probably worth more.

wtf is a e28

Why cant VW, BMW, Audi hipsters just say what year the car is.

E28 is an 80’s 5-series.
