e85 in wny?

So far I have seen e85 at the sunoco/wilson farms in north tonawanda(on nfb) its 2.29 a gallon. Although this is the first i have seen in wny. I still think it is kind of alot for a gas that decreases your mpg.I may be wrong. I am sure people can chime in on it.

damn 2.29 for decreased gas mileage…

ill keep my 1.92 for regular gas

die. What is e85 down there? you can’t run it anyways you need a bigger pump and injectors

closest place to me for e85 i think is dc

E85 in medina.

E85 is not all its cracked up to be.

I have read some reviews. It is very good for tuning. i believe e85 is = 100 octane. I seriously its that good for daily driving

e85 > delta 100 octane

if it comes closer to me, i will def be switching.

maybe ill run e85. shweet. just need some injector

Not that it matter’s to most people on here but this was from a article about E85…

Overall, using E85 reduces fuel economy by about 20 percent. In other words, a tank of E85 ethanol will take you only about 80 percent as far as a tank of conventional gasoline. Running on conventional gas, the V6 Chevy Impala, for example, is rated at 21 mpg city/31 highway. Running on E85, the same Impala is rated at 15 mpg city/22 highway.

E85 = the cat’s meow on a tuned turbo car…

Damn i wish gas was that price around me!!!

You would still make money at that price call the chief let him know.

Dumb question or not, can anyone with a normal car use e85?

Say, oh, a mazdaspeed6?

only if the “normal car” whatever that means, is tuned for E85 and in a perfect world has all the rubber lines replaced with metal. E85 will eat rubber.

probably not you will run lean and go boom. you need a good pump and injectors. That is what i was told anyways

Perfect answers  Thanks.

i think e85 is more like 105 - 110 octane
i guess it varies
if it comes closer to my house i will probably end up running it
there is a sunoco they are putting up by my house, im curious if they are also going to have it

Every single time I filled up at the pump the fueling needed retuned because it was way off. I’m sure some stations will have bigger tanks so the mix won’t change as often, but just be aware that you need to check this regularly or you can toast your engine. There were times where the car went a full point leaner and some where it went a full point richer so I had to have my laptop out and ready to go when I started the car after filling up. It would only take a few minutes to retune the car since the change was mostly global, but if you don’t do this the tune will be way off.

Flex Fuel cars have a sensor that detects the ethanol/gas concentration to dynamically adjust fueling to avoid this problem.

is it even in the tanks there yet? this morning when i drove by on my way to work, the sign was not lit up for the E85

anyways, come spring time, ill fill the s10 up with it since ive only had the truck 8 years now and never once had a station to go to for it.
