i feel bad for anyone who buys just a motorset sitting on concrete.
I get them to take motor set out of the clip after I see it. Tell them exactly what I want and how I want it. Discuss price, pay then pick up. Makes install VERY easy and I know it runs.
They can still easily switch it out for a motorset. The best way to do it is to buy the clip yourself. Start it up and run it for 10 minutes or so to ensure its working fine.
Remove it yourself and then install it into your other chassis.
True, my problem is I trust people to easily.

I grabbed my motor from Varun, and a crap loads of parts for my swap, everything was as stated, super smooth transaction and no dicking around. I tested the starter and the alternator before the motor went in and the alternator was bad, called up Varun and within 20 minutes I was at his place getting a new alternator. I never did a compression test as he said he had done it and the motor was good, no reason not to believe him. Two years later, Power FC tuned, 50,000km on an unknown KM motor, stock head gasket and all gaskets, driven hard all the time, 2 drag days one with 15 runs in a row no resting and the second with 26 no resting no cooling off and the car sold just 2 weeks ago with a compession test done reading 150 across the board… now he is getting more money from me for the Z33… why go anywhere else?

I got my SR20DET type X from him, I let it sit in my garage for over a year before having it installed it in my 240 at Nizztex and it fired up right away without any problem! Even the guys at Nizztex were like WOW! No smoke, no hazitation, no vidrations, nothing! … Just a nice smooth clean start! …Then they took it apart and did the modifications I wanted!
My friend bought a SR20DET from him too and he had no problem either!
These Jap parts guys are hit or miss and when you are spending that kind of money why risk on a hit or miss? You are lucky you got your money back, usualy they would give you a store credit or some shit like that.

the problem with these importers is if your joe blow off the street, they dont give a fuck about you, gotta know someone in there or be friends with someone thats tight with one of the guys to get good shit.
unless you know someone just go to varun and pay the little extra for quality shit and peace of mind
Riyad is doing my swap right now, brought it in last week and should be going to pick it up today. Riyad flys to Japan himself and hand picks everything. My motor is out of an automatic Silvia driven by a handicapped guy. 
I can’t wait, I am VERY happy I took my car to him. You can’t ask for more.
