I am in the market for buying a blacktop S14 motor and have been priced out at $3000 from Eagle Japan Motors in Mississauga and also FNF Motors in Montreal.
Has Anyone delt with these suppliers? If so are they reliable?

that’s not overly fair to say… I get clips and engines WITH a doa replacement warrenty… and I have the option of picking from 12 or more regularly, not just one or two.

however there are atleast 15 people on here that have got their engines through Varun, including myself, and the quality and post-purchase support were unparalleled by all of our experiences.
that is why everyone bumps his gear.
I bought my second SR from Varun and am very pleased with the service he provided. I have yet to find any other seller who goes out of his way to help you like Varun. Off the top of my head I can think of 15+ guys who have swapped with Varun sourced motors and all of them are happy with his service.

I can beat $3000 for a blacktop EASY, check out a pic from the redtop I got for Koz. I can’t promise you the same level of service Varun gives (personally, before I got my engine hook up, I would’ve bought from no one but him), because I’m really new in the market and we’re just two guys with a van. But we will go the extra mile for our buyers, b/c we are new, and we need the reputation.
The only issue is, we’re very low on engines right now, so if you want a full motorset NOW, ask Varun, cuz I’ll have to wait another 5 weeks or so and then I’ll have tons. If you don’t mind missing things (ecu, cut harness, tranny in some cases) I can get you a ridiculously cheap SR that is in great condition right now. Just buy what else you need elsewhere.
this is quickly going to degrade into a who has what or can do what and then it’s going to be a price war or someone ios going to slam someone else… blah blah… from the information I have received since my first post in this topic, 99% of the board is going to support varun. Let it go and move on … if someone wants product from you they know where to find you, same goes for me as well. But your fighting an uphill battle that can’t be won. my suggestion is to offer something that Varun can’t I’ve dealt with him on a buyer level once and I have allot offer beyond just an engine in terms of supprt… but that’s something left to the consumer to want or not.

if ure buying an s14 blacktop for 3000 go through eagle (mississauga), cuz its better to buy from a local supplier ALWAYS…the best i can do is 3300 with BRAND NEW HARNESS, AND BRAND NEW IGNITOR…good luck who ever u buy from and let me know if u need additional parts for ure swap anytime…

I was consulting for the buyer , but yes you have the right person. He ended up going to Tiger and pissing them and everyone else off in the process, so you didn’t miss much on that sale. But the FD discussion still stands if derek relayed it to you the other night.
$3000 for an S13 black top would be insane… that’s double what it should be… a complete redtop front clip is ~$3000. $3000 for an S14 makes a bit more sense but that’s still high.
is the person your talking about the owenr of a black s13 with fader tints and 17" wheels and his swap currently isnt working and its sitting in a snowmobile shop getting done?

For a one time buyer, $3000 for a complete s13 blacktop is expensive, but it’s not double what it should be. Who sells them for $1500??

$3000 is for a red top front clip… $1500 for a red top engine… that’s what it’s been for at least 2 years from this end… $3000 is a hell of a markup… maybe I should re asses my pricing schedule. the only 4 bangers I sell that are $3000, ( disregarding honda crap ) are JDM EJ20’s from GC6’s and up. $1500 gets me a freakin 2.5L 1JZ-GTE
anyway… as I said people make thier own choices, it’s up to them to decide what specifics they choose and who or who doesn’t do them.
No it’s not in a snowmobile shope, as far as I know. The person in question did have the install done however he’s since sold the car ( ripped off the buyer big time), it was a piss poor install and the car was a lame duck, slowest 240 I’ve ever seen.
hey man, i sell s13 blacktops, with brand new harness and ecu and ignitor for 2750-3000 depending if its a type-x and how many ppl are purchasing during that week from me. However, u said 1500 is what they are worth to you, i would liek to inform you that i spend 500cdn on just my brand new harness, and about 300 cdn just on the shipping to canada per engine from the middle east. Please let me know where a blacktop engine, as complete as the engines i sell are available for 1500 bucks !!! and if u can get them that cheap…ill take 3 of them from you…and pay u 200 bucks on top per engine set so that u can eat from the pie aswell…thanks a lot for ure help…
I dunno… I don’t claim to be Mr. Super Cool Engine Know All Man, cuz I’m not. And I don’t claim my engines are the BEST on here, cuz Varun’s probably ARE better. But I can show you the quality of engines that I get, and they are GOOD. They’re more than good, they’re great like Kellogs Frosted Flakes 
I tell you exactly what the engine has included, the compression numbers, and you tell me if you want it. If you do, I sell you the engine, it’s pretty simple. Just cuz it’s aggressively priced, doesn’t mean it has to suck, you’d laugh and say you can find more change on the side of the road if you knew how much I make off this.
Solarian if you’re making so little off these engines. What are you going to do if you sell a dud motor, and your supplier wont compensate you?
Are you buying these motors with peoples deposites?? If you get a shipment of crap, or your supplier dissapears with the money, or goes bankrupt, can you afford to refund peoples deposites??
