i havent divulged all my secrets yet bud. :ninja
I’m just trying to get all the details about the build, since so far the title of “Time Attack” is somewhat misleading.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that there is not a single “Time Attack” car in the area, since most are class limited, unlike a true TA car, which is only budget limited.
First off, jdm kids, it’s a time trial. Even if you ‘attack’ it, it’s still a time trial. The only time attack is Redline and the closest they come to us is Summit Point.
Second, every time trial has classes. There are very few unlimited classes and all I have to do to win one of those is bring a race car. Building a car to an unlimited class just for speed is stupid, there will always be something faster than you. Build to a class so you have some reasonable competition.
So very very true… running any class that’s theoretically ‘unlimited’ is a great way to go broke like a crackhead in whorehouse. Being competitive involves picking out a good class to run your car in with the ‘necessary’ mods/tuning/etc. Otherwise, just like Jay said, there’s ALWAYS a faster, better handling car at some event just waiting to make you have to spend that extra $5K…$10K…$20K…$50K…
Now granted there’s being competitive, and ‘enjoying the competition’. It sucks if you get to the point where all you care about is being competitive, kinda kills the fun factor.
That Evo is saweeeeet!!!

Time Attack (alternatively known as Super Lap or Tuner Battles) originated in Japan when the tuning media organised the event on race circuits such as Tsukuba Circuit, where it commonly occurs, as a proving ground for street tuned cars built at a large budget by highly respected tuning companies. As a result of the quick rise in popularity, tuners developed cars especially to use to beat the competition,[1] most controversially the purpose built HKS CT230R Lancer Evolution, with its body made entirely out of carbon fiber. This attracted much criticism from competitors, given that the full carbon-fibre body gave the HKS CT230R a total weight of only 1060kg or 2332lbs; significantly less than that of other competing cars. The Lancer Evo would become the OEM chassis Time Attack record holder at Tsukuba which it still holds to this day.
Unlike other timed motorsport disciplines such as sprinting and hillclimbing, the car is required to start off under full rolling start conditions following a warm up lap where they will have to accelerate out as fast as possible to determine how fast they enter their timed lap.[1] Commonly, as cars consists of modified roadgoing cars, cars are required to wear tires authorized for road use and in all, drivers are allocated to three laps in a final event run; warm-up, timed and cool-down.[1]
Largely as a result of the popularity of the tuning industry, the name appears as a category for modified production vehicles at the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb utilizing Time Attack regulations which allows aftermarket modifications to the car and is split into two categories (2WD and 4WD).[2][3]
Dosn’t really go into limitation of modification, and I’d say a carbon Evo is pretty costly and extreme. From what I understand some of the limits are road legal tires, and production car. :confused
Werd. I hate being so competitive sometimes, but I still get a lot of fun out of everything, even if I lose. Except at Forza. No one beats me in Forza.
No offense, but there’s nothing ‘time attack’ about this car. If anything it’d be a ‘weekend warrior’ at most.
:tong Ok fine, any time trial you’ll find around here will have classes.
And I beat Cossey at Forza. Seriously. Witnesses.
And since you can still enter some time trials without any driving experience, those people will get absolutely stomped by drivers who have been doing it for awhile. When an experienced driver in a Focus is giving a new Ferrari driver a run for his money, people think twice about dumping money into the car and start practicing. Sounds crazy, but it happens.
All ‘witnesses’ you claim of have been taken care of. No more witnesses for your false claim.

It sounds like it’ll be a badass vehicle if it all gets done. I’m sure it’ll have stereo and door panels and other seats, so it wouldn’t be a true “time attack” car. Just another streetable car with go fast and handling bits… (nothing wrong with that at all though)
motor is assembled but lacking intake and exhaust manifolds… will be back in the vehicle 1st week of january. :banana
There ya go, glad to hear the good news.
Now take out your cellphone cam or anything and take some pics of the said lawn ornament.
motor is now fully assembled and awaiting re-insertion under the hood… will happen later this week being tomorrow is christmas… i had originally thought there were more turbo issues as well… there are not… turbo spins freely with no shaft play…im one happy sonofabitch right now. :banana :lol :lmao ;D
Just make sure ALL problems are fixed before you mod. Too many people mod on top of problems and chase their tail round-round. You will be happy when this thing is back and everything is buttoned up.
all the problems should be 100% fixed now that it has a new motor. the only thing remaining is a tune… that is being addressed before long as well.
possibly running by 430 today… cross ur fingers ladies. :banana
Oh boy, you take bets? :tong
no… not unless im 100% to win :lol
ITS RUNNING MOTHAFUCKAS!!! :banana :bowdown ;D :lmao :mwahaha :nod :tong
cool! now lets take bets on how long it runs :lol
(I know you are quick to pull the trigger, so I’m just letting you know that i’m busting your balls)
