electric fans

i just put on a set of ls1 fans on my tahoe sunday…they work great. i didn’t fill up my tank yet so i don’t know if i gained any mpg out of it but the motor does rev up a little quicker now

haha…don’t mind the red wire…testing purposes only its not there now

dont you have to change settings in the computer for that to??

quick??

on a Gen III motor you can have it wired into the port and turned on by a tuner

or do what i did and use a VSC to control it to come on. for him Hes Gen II motor so doing a VSC is his best bet

i  my fbody fans

rather than the vsc i put a painless thermostat in the cylinder head…they keep it cooler than the mechanical fan did though thats for sure. harness cost me around $40 to make…thermostat was $30 from summit, 2 relays (1 for the fans and one for the a/c) and an inline fuse and some wire.

and you have how much into that setup? my VSC was 80 bucks and its one unit. the probe is in the rad, all relays and etc are in the unit. its a more clean look

but if yours works great and i seen probably 2mpg gain with them

i made 2 harnesses for less than 80 bucks…i bought the harness/vsc you got from summit and then sent it back once i opened it and saw all that it was. the only wires you can even see are in the loom going to the fans. the relays are mounted behind the battery on the fender.

nice job

he has a gen I not II

i thought roller motors were Gen II since they can use LT1 parts along, also having vortec heads and EFI

lt1 and lt4 are gen II that’s all.

damn quick your slipping must of skipped that chapter ha

just kidding

fan set up looks good

just took the fans out of my f-body and putting then in my yukon soon

runnin no fans on the f-body. pimp…
