Im planning to go go KA-t in the summer, but for now, i was wondering, can u really getaway buying a 50 dollar high rpm blower and stickin it onto your intake pipe, i mean, when u get a normal turbo u do all those other things to make it work properly, how would this electric blower thing work ? would it screw your engine overtime ? and if it does work, how much hp can you expect ? ebay is full of that crap… they even have some transperant ones with LED’s inside @_@ lmao lol
oh man…
well, if the turbo sucks faster than the fan, then chances are the fan would spin faster because the air is being sucked through it, forcing it to increase in velocity…
Okay well let’s put this little device into perspective. It’s a little electric fan that is supposed to “push” more air into your engine (like a turbo, but electric).
Problem
There is no visible way of turning it on or off, it looks like it is always on. Boosting 5PSI at idle is a bad thing. If the butterfly is barely open, that 5PSI is going nowhere.
IF it does what it says it does, you’ll be running majorly lean unless you have a fuel controller or a Rising Rate FPR capable of boost conditions. Which you don’t.
It looks EXTREMELY poorly made.
Your Intake system is constantly sucking (Vaccume). The plastic turbo might be more of a hindrance to your engine. Idle vac is approx. 20 PSI while that little blower is only pushing 5PSI.
There is no Recirculating Valve, Bypass Valve or Blow Off Valve. The air is being pushed at a (near)closed throttle plate whenever you change gears/take your foot off the throttle. Where does this air go?
Some of these arguments may not be sound but you get the picture I’m sure.
