Hey all,
So, my fiance and I are trying to get rid of an old wedding set that she had laying around from a previous guy who didn’t make the cut! Not sure if this is the right place to post something like this or not, but here goes:
What we have is an engagement set, which means that it includes an engagement ring and also a wedding ring. The rings are 14K white gold and are rhodium plated.
The Engagement ring has 4 princess cut diamonds set together in an invisible setting totalling 0.5 carat. It has 4 round cut diamonds channel set down either side of the shank totalling 0.25 carat.
The wedding band has 10 round cut diamonds channel set along the side totalling 0.25 carat. The quality of all the diamonds is SI/2 to I1 in clarity and H to I in color.
The rings are currently sized to size 5, but can easily be resized.
The set was purchased new from People’s jewellers 2 years ago and was worn for less than half a year after purchase. It has been newly rhodium plated at the end of August and has not been worn since so it shines like absolutely brand new. The set also comes with a brand new appraisal done on October 30, 2006 by a certified gemologist. The appraised value of the engagement ring is $1850.00 and the appraised value of the wedding band is $850.00, totalling $2700.
Now, the set also comes with the original receipt from People’s Jewellers, and they have a trade-in policy - if you buy a ring with at least $4000 value, they’ll give you a $2000 credit for this ring. So basically, you have all the paperwork you’ll need to either insure the set or trade it in and save yourself a pile of money.
Since we have no use for this anymore and it would be nice to pay some bills (I keep pushing for a LCD TV… ha ha ha. :E), we’d like to get rid of it for $1000.
Here are some pics (sorry for the blurriness in some of the pictures, jewellery is extremely hard to photograph…when I’m behind the carmera, anyway! :D):
