Engine machine shops that know RB's 780 area

Building some more 26’s and 30’s and looking for a machine shop in the Edmonton area that knows about them and are not morons and rape out the ass. Post anything so I can look em up in the yellow pages and call for inquiry. Thanks guys.

sry i wouldnt trust anyone in canada… call the boys in Oregon 503 626 2177 http://unnaturalinc.com/

Hey Allen, just out of curiosity. Do you sell built up SR crate motors?

Anything can be done for a price:P I try to offer as much as I can and this will also depend on if I can find someone good in my area thats not a moron like my guys I was using in Lethbridge.

I know Mark… Everyone does suck in Canada and its a bitch for us. But sending my jobs and pre pay for them into a country that barly lets us down is creepy. Id like to make a couple mistakes with someone local so we can learn and then have something to offer in the end.

My bro is gettin some work done there. But im pretty freaking sure that nobody in the city will have any/much experience with machining RB’s. I know that Silverstone does some machine work and they have worked with RB’s before but i have only heard that the owner is a jerk and they over price.

I could be clueless but while engines are different isn’t an engine pretty much an engine and boring, and honing, and porting, and polishing, etc., are more or less the same regardless of what engine it is?

I want to be able to make a smooth and fast transision from getting the engine there and out the door. This means that the people at the shop have to take what I want done and actually get it done NO like ummmmm… What berrings do I get, There is no head stud kit for this engine, I cant use these undersized berrings, I wont heat a crank or turn it cuz I dont do that on chevy 350’s ect… Those are some of the answers I recieve. Like its called pick up the fucking phone and call your rep and get a part number and order it. Like if a place that builds engines cant get the parts you tell them to the only thing they are doing is labour which is only a 1/3rd of the job in building an engine. I might as well give them 1/3rd the wages of a trades man. I also have 26 heads at one shop in Leth and they dont want to finish the job cus they cant find shimms. Like omg… Do I have to do everything!!! Its gets frustration. Like shit. I can build the engine myself if the prosess is like that :stuck_out_tongue:

Everytime I start a project with a shop it involves me getting the GFSM from Japan for clearance spec’s, buy all my own parts out of Japan and im tired of it. I will pay the extra to get the job done FAST!

Ahhhh. I follow you now. :thumb

The only thing I can suggest is Cam and Lightspeed in Red Deer. He seems to be the only shop I have talked to that actually has a clue about what he is talking about. He has worked on RBs before. For example, he actually knows about the shims.

He isn’t a machine shop but could likely help you get this stuff done efficiently…wouldn’t hurt to talk to him anyway. He may be set up in his new facility to do this work himself or he would be able to help you find a reputable place to get it done.

i had jerry from best engine do my workl. Just call him and say hey i a building my own motor and i need you to : clean , machine, hone, deck it etc. how much?

With me He suggested that i use a specific brand of bearings he was familiar with etc etc, i told him stright up i already have my rings /bearings all i want is labor!!! So he sad ok up to you. He even offered to assemle the engine with my parts but no warranty on assemly. I rather assemle my own so i told him no thanks.
