how do you match up an engine and tranny? for example, if i have an engine made for a 4X4 is there any tranny that will work in a FWD car??? or even a engine from RWD car fitting in FWD car??? any sites to find mathing transmissions so i know what to look for?
if u would specify the enging and what it came out of, and the car thats its going into, then mayb some1 could help u out
diffrent trannies match up to diffrent engine … are you trying for a spesfic application?
here’s an example … the LT1’s in camaro’s and firebirds, which were all RWD also went into caprices which were FWD … diffrent trannies though
the focus has a zetec in a FWD platform, the escape has it in 4x4, an earlier version is in the escort cosworth, sierra, etc. in awd, it was in the late 80’s ford merkur’s in rwd, in the caterham 7 in rwd. google rocks
this is useless, but…dodge 5.9 360: in ram for a while (including vans and ramcharger), in dakota r/t, durango r/t and jeep grand cherokee 5.9 and im sure it was in in a few other things along the way and its prob been around a while.
trannies are finicky chances of you matching up somehting like you are talking about .00001%

then y did my cousins drift down the road when i was beating the piss out of it. def was no ebrake drift. i dont see it beign like a intrepid with the motor facing forward.
