My name is Jeff, I’ve been browsing this forum for a few months now and decided to finally join up. A little background I guess…I’m an RPI student hailing from Houston, TX but born in Calgary, Canada. The freedom and thrill of having a car that acts as an extension of myself :cool is what got me into the tuning scene and, like most of us, it has become a noteworthy investment of time and money.
My goal with the car has been to upgrade it for driving pleasure without sacrificing the stock utility or comfort…too much. Without further adieu, here’s a few pictures of my '97 LS in Vogue Silver Metallic:
Form
-Black tint at, I think, 35% driver and passenger, 20% behind
-Clear corners
-Retrofitted HID’s
-Wings West Mid-Wing spoiler
-Shark 2 antenna
-Rear wiper removal w/ plug
-Front plate removal
-Trimmed shifter
-Weighted eBay shift knob
Acoustics
-Sony Xplod head unit
-Infinity Reference 6.5" speakers
-MTX 10" subs and Roadthunder amps in custom fiberglass enclosure
-E-dead v4 sound insulation from dash back
-E-dead v1se sound insulation around speaker area
I’ve had the car for a little over 3 years now and enjoyed every minute of it. You might have seen me at a few Friday night Kohl’s meet-ups or on the road. I’m an active member on Team-Integra.net and credit most of my knowledge to the members there. And yes, I do drive it from Texas to Albany regularly with 3 round trips currently under the belt :wow
For that reason and the fact that I don’t like to attract too much attention, I’ve built it up and treated it as a Grand Tourer
i love that color…nice car and it seems you have a pretty nice little project going…1/4 mile time has gottq come down :nana…j/k but really nice car and keep us updated…and welcome to shift
Thanks for the comments and welcoming guys. Future mods include handling (sway bar, tie bar, front strut), brake pads, and repainting of the front and rear bumpers.
I’ll be heading to Lebanon Valley in a few weeks with a friend or 2 that have an RSX and an E36 to see if I can improve on those times! Learning a bunch on how to launch correctly, because that’s where I can improve the most on a low power fwd car.
If anyone wants details on anything, feel free to ask because I generally document my mods very well.
Thanks! Where’s the autocross at? I’m waiting for the season to start here at RPI as we usually put on 3 before it gets cold :runaway
I just have a basic Cobra radar detector from my high school 200sx days, def needs an update. And yea, Nick, the setup is excellent and still hits strong.
Welcome Jeff- I’ve seen your car in person at the last Spring '08 RPI AutoX. Looks great, nice to know what’s in it after seeing your mod list… Car sounded nice too.
Very clean, i’ve seen the car once or twice over the past week, can’t remember if it was at the lot or what…might not even have been you :lol Nice car though!
welcome. RPI 03’ grad here. I’m not sure if you are a member of rpi’s auto shop ( I think it’s called RSAS ). but if you aren’t then make some friends there. Having access to a lift whenever you want is priceless.
Was your car the one that got picked up by 8 people and moved into a handicap spot? Hope you know the guys and they’ll fix your fender, or douchebags they shall be dubbed.
actually it is…i need the bumper resprayed and benny noticed the other night that the same side the bumper fell off, the actual fender is bowed out. :idiots
