Buffalo, N.Y. – Weather conditions next week in Upstate New York will be ideal for a major lake effect storm, forecasters say.
“The large scale pattern certainly suggests potential for significant, high impact lake effect snow at times next week,” said the National Weather Service’s Buffalo office. “Stay tuned!”
The weather service has taken the unusual step of issuing hazardous weather outlooks, the lowest level of alert, five days before the snow might start.
Yeah next weeks potential for “feet” of snow has been talked about all week on a couple of diff weather blogs…the setup is similar to jan 2002 when south buffalo and west seneca got 8’ over 5 days.
Im seeing Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning for buf metro and again Wednesday night into Thursday. Forecast single digit temps over a lake that’s still like 40°, and a delta T at 850MB of almost 30°C…unless its dry air we should see rates similar to last November.
