Eric's GSXR Buggy

When your done you should help me build one so we can race. We always talked about doing this. Its awesome that its actually getting done

Very true! I have actually looked into buying another just to putt around on. But I cant find the guy I got them from. So find a kart and engine, then bring it by :thumbup

We would need to widen the frame and stance a little. I want a 2 seater. I need to gett his boat all finished up first. Damn thing is an uber headache!

Two of them are already being done. Mines almost finished.

Dammit. Where the hell where you gonna tell me?!

8 months ago when we drove and picked them up :ahh

just get some spindles for the wheels patern you want to run. $50 worth of tubing and $20 for bushings, what ever 4 heim joints cost and you could make some custom length arms and they could be adjustable. camber, caster and alignments wise. then you can get awesome ammounts fo travel and fully adjustable suspension up front. make a few shock mounting points too.

same for the rear. a nice 4 link trailing arm setup would be cake. just make a flange plate thats welded to the 2 forward arms that bolts to the existing honda wheel hub.

Arms must be made of either some serious DOM, or 4130 or you WILL distort and bend them. 4130 can be made thinner bust must be stress relieved after welding. DOM can be used, but I’d go with at least a 1.25" x .120 wall tube. 4130 you could get away with a 1"x.095 wall tube

Heim joints can either be cheapies, or wicked expensive Aurora. If you’re going to use heims/rod ends, find a suitable teflon sealed and riding heim

If you want them made of 4130, I have the equipment to weld and stress relieve parts that size.

Should be a fucking blast though. Makes me want to take the '06-'07 636 motor here and make on of these instead of a super kart :number1

just sent you a pm, sorry forgot about this thread. if you still want them they are all yours

Yea I am going with the 4 link arm setup out back. I have to weld up a full trans (spool) housing anyway so the arms will come off of that. I just picked up a 3A seat from gearhead so hopfully this thing should be 3/4 done by next weekend.

NP, PMed ya back!

pics!

Only difference so far is the back end cut out of it and the engine hanging there for mock up. Otherwise I just pulled it out the corner.

Finally got time to work on this thing today. I picked up a complete frontend from a jetta thanks to Dukka. I fitted the axle and spindles assembly to see what lenght arms I would have to make. I figured cutting down the stock LCA would work well with the MK3 lower ball joint. I think I will keep the rear brakes on it to keep it simple and cut down on fab time.

get this done for winter. STUDS FTW!

Trying to, just have to many projects all at once. Ice racing FTW!

easy does it krazy kid dont wanna see fagdog neg rep yah :retardclap

I think you’re gonna beat me to the finish line in getting yours done before I get mine finished :excited

Looking good man! Me and buddy of mine use to race little go karts on the ice prolly 2 years ago. it was more or less bumper cars. mine only had a 5.5 hp motor in it though. my buddy had a posi rear end and mine wasn’t, which sucked balls

going really well !

It maybe close at the pace I’m going.

Yea the old FNR trans had a diff in it. The first thing I did was pull it out and weld the gears up. You shouldn’t need a diff on a buggy, drift through the turns.
