I dont know if I would have called it half way. I mean the firewall is a huge project in itself and I would of had to bought the whole front clip. Another problem would be that the SiR came with power steering and I would of had to source out a non power rack. The clip I pulled the parts off of didnt have the subframe, so theres another part that would of needed to be found. This project needs to be done come june when my brother gets back home from college and I let him use my winter beater during the summer. It would be “cool” to have a RHD car, but definatly not worth it for me right now.
Today I bought arp extended wheel studs and sandblasted and painted my rear hubs/installed the studs and all the brackets used for the E-brake. Pictures will be up tomorrow.
Could have…but I only spent 400 bucks on everything I got so that would have been an extra 1100. I could sell the fog lights for 350 with the switch and the whole wiring harness with relay.
I dont know. Maybe I will go…I dont know if my car will be done. I more than likely Ill have to wait until march or april to spray my car because its getting cold out.
I got my trailing arms back from my dads shop after being sandblasted and painted the same color as the front crossmember. I assembled the spindle on the trailing arm and but some bearing grease in the hub and around the spindle and installed that also.
I picked up an EF8 front bumper from someone on honda-tech. It should be sent out tomorrow so I will take pictures of it when I get it. The bumper is pretty much new. The guy bought it brand new and never painted it and installed it on a car for a little bit. These OEM bumpers, brand new, go for around 750 shipped. So I got a pretty good deal on it.
Thanks man. I got the brake line from carquest. It ran me about 30 bucks for 25’. The polymer coated stuff looks exactly like stock brake lines.
Im about 90% done with my wiring. My directionals, brake lights, high beam, low beam, running lights, gauge cluster, and clock all light up and function properly. Figuring out the headlights was fun because I had to depin the plug that goes to the directional arm for the headlights and keep trying different ways to make the high beam and low beam work corectly. The JDM headlights only have one bulb vs. the USDM headlights having a separate bulb for low and high. I was worried this might not work properly using my stock light switch. But it works great. Only thing I need to worry about wiring now is making sure the fuel pump etc. is all wired up properly.
I also got my tube bender and 37 degree flare kit in today from summit, so I started a little on the brake lines for the front two wheel wells. I need to wait until all of the wiring is done before I can take out my dash and finish the brake tuck.
JDM bumper will be here wednesday, new headlight bulbs ordered from password jdm, new bulkhead on its way, new trailing arm bushings ordered, blox rear toe kit ordered. I have alot of parts coming in so more updates soon. As soon as I get the bulkhead and bumper in I’m going to put the jdm front together on the car to see if it all lines up properly. I need to order new fenders too.
Im still debating if I’m going to run sidemarkers or not. Anyone have any opinions?
I did decide to go with using the sidemarkers. Found a set of password jdm ef8 fenders. They retail on their website for 299.99 with 88.00 dollars shipping. I got them from a different website for 189.00 shipped. They were running a special for free shipping on orders of 150 or more so I bought them. Only things left to buy for the body are a hood and a lip for the bumper.
Anyone have a lip in mind that looks good with the jdm bumper?
I did find this one but its really expensive and might have to wait until my car is done to see if I have money for it.
Its 300 on password jdm. Im sure I could find it elsewhere for cheaper but thats the only lip becides the stock one i have found.
