I would like to remove all the R12 Refrigerant from the A/C system in my front clip so I can disassemble it but unfortunately I don’t have the tools to properly remove and hold the R12.
R12 is extremely valuable as it is now illegal for retail sale in North America and has been outlawed from vehicle A/C systems since the early 90s due to its hazardous environmental issues. Even with all that the fact still remains. It is a far better cooling agent than R134a or similar counterparts.
R12 is still being sold on ebay by Private parties, and A/C shops usually jump at every opportunity to take it out of your system at a cost and “upgrade” to the newer R134a
R12 is the best to use as a top up, or to use when filling up an older A/C system (early 90s or older) and it is not only Nissan Specific.
So, I’m looking for someone with a pump and tank to remove the R12 Refrigerant from my A/C. Please let me know if you can help me out. I’m looking to get this stuff out in the coming days.

Well it’s “done”
I took care of it on Monday. I went to just about every shop in Markham asking if they could do it and they said that no one has the R12 stuff anymore. Most of them said they threw out the equipment 5+ years ago cause no one used it anymore.
The environmental fee is disputable to most shops. They will not charge to remove it if you can prove it is valuable to them. Most shops said they’d love to take it off my hands free of course but they just don’t have the equipment. Take a look at what a bottle of R12 is selling for on Ebay right now and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. And it’s not like this stuff gets bad or used out or anything. If your system is still full then it could be 100 years the refrigerant is still going to perform today as it did 100 years earlier.
The way of removing it by letting it lose into the air is illegal, and it makes it even worse that it’s in a garage at my Aunts house.

Oh yes, and the Calipers are officially spoken for. They will be in Vlad’s (dubv) hands on Saturday.
