I know a few people who have been there and really enjoyed it. There are really amazing places to see in Thailand.

This reminds me of a creeper I used to work with who kept going there, up until he returned home with a new 18 year old bride… (he was 45)
He had pictures he liked to show around the office of girls that couldn’t have been more than 13… and bragged about how cheap they were. It was pretty gross.
He did have other pictures of scenery and stuff, but I’m sure he wasn’t there to look around. It was pretty disturbing, knowing that he went like 4 or 5 times and actually came home married to one of his “girls”

My dad goes once a year for like 2 months… his wife is from there. He’s doing the 6mo there/6mo here routine once he retires in another 2 or 3 years.
I’ve never been. If you want, I can get some info on places off the beaten path to go check out. The non-touristy stuff that only the locals would know about (although still safe).
The Car scene is growing over there. I heard you can rent nsx for cheap. Food good ( maybe because I’m laos). Id say the only thing to worry about is getting robbed and gangs if you plan on hitting up bars and strip joints.

Well strip joints probably aren’t on the itinerary for a trip with my wife and sister-in-law and I know enough to turn around and walk out of the type of joint where everyone turns around and stares at you when you walk in, so I doubt I’ll run into much gang trouble. (What I mean is I’m not a naive dumbass so I should be OK.)
