Ever have a dream where your screaming out but nothing comes out???

Now imagine that dream lasts 20+ years…

I’ve said a lot of things are the worst, but this is probably the WORST.

dear god. that’d be AWFUL

That would suck but im confused… loss of all bodily control, yet can type? Do people in comas move sometimes, and they thought his ability to move his fingers was just a reflex or something?

Dude must be so fucking insane after 23 years of nothing to do but think. Or more enlightened than Buddha.

And for the love of god, it’s you’re, not your.

That is absolutely ghastly!

reminds me of http://www.blockbuster.com/browse/catalog/movieDetails/348563

Hahahaha good catch

There was a House episode like this. Not 23 years but they thought the guy was trying to talk and in reality he was awake and in pain.

just read this earlier today and I was gonna post it. I can’t even imagine what that would be like

It would be nice if they explained how he can communicate now but couldn’t before.
Did I miss that part?

Terrible. Talk about torture.

Has anyone had the experience of waking up but not being able to control your body? Apparently it’s fairly common. I had it happen over the summer and it really freaked me out because I didn’t know what why it was happening. It only lasted for like a minute, though.

Apparently there is a separate part of your brain that shuts off control to your body when you sleep so that you don’t act out dreams and sometimes it doesn’t click back on right away when you wake up and you are “paralyzed.” Not a good feeling.

that’s cuz i was holding u down when u woke up. different story pillows

n/m then.

ugh wtf
id rather be dead i think

I agree. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’d be like to be held down by Micah.

through therapy and treatments, paralyzed people can often regain partial movement of their limbs.

I just had one of those last night.

There has been some serious debate about the legitimacy of this whole story.

Take a look at this video from MSNBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31388323/vp/34111007#34111007

See the part where he is “communicating?” This is called “facilitated communication.” It looks more to me like someone else is taking that mans hand and poking the letters on the screen, not the man himself communicating. I’m apparently not the only person taking a second look at this… Take a read: http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/swift-blog/783-this-cruel-farce-has-to-stop.html

If you watch the video they posted in their update to that article, you’ll clearly see the mans eyes are closed. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could lead a woman who is holding my hand to type out coherent sentences without even looking at the keyboard.

Edit: I’m not passing judgement… I’m just saying it looks a little odd, even with video evidence.
