Exhaust gasket material *PICS*

Just wondering where I could purchase like a small sheet of exhaust
gasket? Something you can use to cut your own pieces. And has to
resist high temps.

Napa? Canadian Tire? Princess Auto? Parts Source?

Can Tire has gasket sheets (sheets of material) but I don’t think it can withstand the heat in an exhaust.

Specifically - what connection do you need a gasket for? (I have some spares at home)

I need the following:

  • 7-bolt flange turbo outlet. Here’s a pic --> Turbo Back Picture
I know one of the bolt holes is butchered but meh :dunno:

  • 38mm Tial (standard?) wastegate flange

  • 40mm HKS wastegate inlet flange

  • Outlet flange from 40mm HKS wastegate. Here’s a pic (looks like a 38mm flange) --> Wastegate outlet flange

The reason I need both 38mm and 40mm wastegate flange is because my
manifold is a 38mm wastegate flanged, and my actual wastegate is a
40mm HKS wastegate unit.

I thought of trading in my 40mm for a 38mm but I paid a crap load and I
figure I keep it and just build a conversion tube (which I’m already in the process of).

I’ll try to have some pics tonight if I can of the stuff at my shop.

I don’t know if you have carquests out there, but the carquests here sell exactly what you are looking for. It’s like $70 for the sheet but it is large and you can make a shit ton of gaskets and it’s really good stuff for high heat applications. A buddy of mine used it for all his turbo gaskets etc and it hasn’t given him any trouble. It’s a bit pricey but when you start considering the cost of normal exhaust/turbo gaskets are $10 a piece it’s really worth it.

Hrm, apparenly there are Car Quests in Brampton near where I live.

Thanks robby, I think I’m gonna go give them a visit.

I probablly won’t buy it right away if I can save a few bucks. Dan? :naughty:
