Well, Ive got an issue right now… ive been forced to run open header on my civic because while removing the bolts holding the cat to the header, I managed to snap them… What do you reccommend for replacing these with to avoid the rediculious rusting problem that the old bolts had?? No I will not go to Honda again for these bolts, haha… they raped me last time I did that.
bring it over after 130 , ill hack teh stock nuts off the flange and throw in some new bolts and double nut the back side … that way if they snap next time all the broken shit falls away and its a simple trip to the hardare store, instead of having to remove a broken bolt from a nut thats part of the flange
Haha well I actually got rid of all the old bolts/garbage that held it on before. The way it was bolted up was kinda neat though, It used 2 bolts with threads on both endes and 2 springs or something. HRK I might take you up on that offer… I wont be in town until after 3 or 4 but If I am, Ill send a PM over. Also, you think that a no seize compound is really going to do the trick at that temperature and exposed to everyhting the bottom of the car is exposed to??? I guess its worth a try though… Thanks.
well it takes 2 seconds to put on and any self respecting , be it back yard or profesional, mechanic has never seize … takes 2 seconds to put on and can’t hurt
I have anti seize stuff, but I dont know, just wouldnt think it would do too much with what those bolts take… I was just thinking that I could use like stainless bolts or something, but Ill figure it out tonight…
