External Wastegate size for SR

What size external wastegate would you say is a good size for our SR’s?

And… Anyone have success installing an external wastegate onto the stock manifold?

Well, gates are typically more expensive as they grow in size.

I have run a 38mm gate and this year will be running a 44mm. Obviously flow capacity is of concern but so if flange design.

38mm use a two bolt flange
44mm use v-band style

FullRace guys says tial 44 for any setup although you can obviously get away with a 38 on a smaller turbo.

And I have successfully run a gate on a stock manifold, worked really well in fact.
I actually still have the manifold if you are interested, all you would have to do is bolt the gate on.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

with a bottom mount GT28RS turbo, and stock manifold, would it be a good idea to use the vBand mount on a 44mm if the intent is to reroute the exhaust back into the turbo dump pipe?

I mean, do I need another manifold or can vband be mounted onto it? Woudl there be enough space for welding a flange?

350rwhp, very good throttle response. perhaps full boost before 3500rpm at 15psi and does not creep
