turbo help..

trying to grab this turbo but im kinda confused on something… On this link below it says the housing that it comes with the wastegate mounts right on the turbo, which is kinda cool, but with my DNP manifold that I have now my wastegate is already mounted to the manifold… Will it effect the turbo at all if I leave the space where the wastegate hooks up to empty? If so where can I buy an hta86 with a dsm flange that doesnt have a housing to mount a wg on?

Just pick up a block off plate and put it on the manifold. Run the wastegate off the turbo

im running a 46mm wastegate though and dont really wanna buy a 44mm one and thats all they offer :frowning: …can i just get the housing on the turbo where the wastegate mounts to welded shut with a plate?

the 46mm still use a 44mm style v band flange so it should work on the turbo housing :tbu
im going to guess you are using the precision 46mm wastegate?

They can be used in any kit or setup that currently utilizes a v-band style 44mm gate

sick… and yup lol.

and let me know if you want a plate that just clamps on with a v band instead of welding it on. (it would help the resale value if you decide to ever sell the manifold) i can get you one for a slightly better price than this: http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=60_33_34_37&products_id=196
shoot me a pm if you want it and i can get you in contact with my parts guy.

$60 for a 304 SS disk? And the clamp comes with your WG, so no need for another one.

Bowman can build one on his lunch break from scrap stock SS.

Just bustin your balls CorEy. :hug

But yeah, what ever physically fits better under the hood is what port we can use. The other one can be blocked off with a disk. Like he said, tigging it close would make it harder to sell later on.

im not worried about selling anything later on, just want the car functioning properly.
