Why is it that so many people that own VWs that have a VR6 always say it’s turbocharged when it clearly isn’t (Usually from Jetta owners so I’ve noticed). Am I missing something here?
Is it the burly sex like sound they make?
Massive amounts of torque?
The ability to do stunning FWD burnouts with ease?
The fact it’s generally reliable and simple to maintain?
I dunno, probably the typical demographic. <20 years old, “likes cars” but not an enthusiast. VW makes a turbo Jetta. The VR6 is at least always equal to a 1.8T in trim level, so it must be turbo.
Never heard the boost gauge one, or that VRs are factory turboed. Actualy now that I think of it I had some toofless dude in a minivan did ask me what I had done to my more or less stock VR GTI, cuz it “sounded fast”.
Nothing will ever beat the fents, crub, and brush guy…
