I was torn on a pair of Cole Haans but they just didn’t do it for me. I really wanted a pair of wing tips like the ones that were restored up top, but these were very comfortable. They were $129 which I thought was a fair price for them. My gf laughs at me when I buy a new pair of shoes because of how excited I am to wear them.
My favorite part of them is how low profile they are in the toe area, they look gooooooood. haha
That’s what I thought they were. Those are actually the shoes that made me start researching and making this thread. Reviews are so so on them, but for $129 it’s not a bad deal. Be happy you didn’t go with Cole Haan… they suck.
Thanks guys, it only took about 4 weeks from ordering, to the door. I highly recommend Pediwear, www.pediwear.co.uk they have great service and replied within 24 hours anytime I had a question, they even helped me size the shoe to my foot by sending in my measurements. I’ll be ordering from them again soon.
Wow, just saw this thread. Just checked out Zappos and it seems pretty cool. Free shipping and returns (I’m the kind of guy that needs to try on a shoe to know if it fits well for me).
Any other sites out there to peruse? I’m looking for casual shoes.
Also picked up some Black Double Monks… goodyear welt stitched… made in Italy… regular several hundo… got a redic deal on them… couldnt pass it up since i was looking for exactly this style.
my wife is going to kill me when she finds out i bought 3 pairs of shoes this week… lol… also picked up some AE Jacksons in blakc to go with the chili ones i posted pics of earlier.
double monks
i apoligize for the $50 kodak pictures… my kids keep breaking my canons… i have a replacement that i pick up on saturday… until my boys break that one too
Definitely need a picture of those shoes being worn. I always thought the New Orleans ones looked cool, but not being able to see them/hold them/try them, keeps me from taking a chance on them.
Wow that’s pretty awesome they do that, send the email that is. I’ll be in the market to replace these Cole Haan slip on work shoes. I’d like to spend around $100 I think. Nothing too fancy since I’m “out in the field” per say repairing computers, servers, printers, etc.
Magnanni is a good spanish brand with strong street cred amongst shoe gurus. I like their stuff. It’s not too over priced and the style is nice and slim. I think that is a great shoe… get a matching belt
I still stand behind allen edmonds for overall value.
They’re usually the same price or less than Magnanni, they’re American made and you can have them recrafted by Allen Edmonds anytime. I did 2 sets of shoes with them last year through recrafting. Thing is Allen Edmonds’ are usually not as slim or stylish as the Magnanni which are pretty much a spanish (cheaper) version of Ferragamo or other uber italian shoe brands that usually cost twice as much.
See if you can find a similar show from AE and go that route if possible. If not, Magnanni is pretty rad.
