From this pic the driver’s compartment looks in good shape, the door doesn’t show much damage, the A pillar looks fine on both sides (sans being cut). It’s hard to see the front end of the car.
It’s all speculation at this point… But IIRC the LeMons rules for safety is pretty close to SCCA and NASA, but that can only go so far going head on into a wall.

yah that link said he didn’t brake check or anything, just full speed into the wall as if he were passed out
