uhhhhh :eek3:
Wow, there might be a Chrysler worth buying for once.
its ridiculous
I better see a Grande Punto Abarth SS in the US after all of this.
bye bye Fiat
anything that touches Chrysler will fail. Didn’t Fiat learn anything from Mercedes?
Sounds like Automotive Leprosy. Haha.
Keep in mind it’s actually a 20% “minority share” and right now it doesn’t involve Fiat throwing cash at Chrysler or assuming Chrysler debt. Fiat just wants a “technology transfer” deal, so basically they are giving Chrysler fuel efficient small cars in the hopes that Chrysler turns around and the stock is eventually worth some nice bank.
The problem with this is that the $6 billion Chrysler will get from the Fed as a “bonus” for inking the deal won’t last long enough to actually get Fiat products over here. After a year, Chrysler will be out of money and they won’t actually have a small Fiat in the U.S. yet. Fiat was almost bankrupt like 5 years ago, so it’s not like they are flush with cash to save Chrysler themselves. Hopefully there is something else in the works, because on paper I predict this deal is a massive fail, even though it won’t really cost Fiat much in the end.
