The error to the right is what pops up when I try to access a file. I put this drive into an external case but was having the exact same problem when it was in my desktop. I ran CHKDSK and the results are on the right side. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
restart the system.
If this is an external drive, power cycle it as well.
If you are trying to access files while running a scandisk, it will spit that error. It needs exclusive access to scan the disk.
Was this drive used on another computer with any sort of security features active. You might need to change the access properties.
Justin, I have restarted several times. This is external but I was having the same exact problem when it was in my computer.
Fuzzy That is a possibility where could I go for that?
Interesting folders you have there… …

bump… I have a hard drive full of files that I cannot access. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
