Final Opinion On Wheels

Okay…so, most of my rims (I guess - according to Sears, Walmart, and my dealer) are slightly bent. Not enough to be a huge PITA, but I can still feel the vibration and it irks me. I also need new tires as my Continental ExtremeContact DWS’s are about 26kmi, low tread, and super noisy.

So, I’ve decided to get another set of 18" rims to replace mine.

I was initially going to go after market, but honestly…I’m not that into modding my car anymore. I don’t want to lower it, etc. and I don’t want to have 19" or 20" wheels and have lower sidewall tires because of that. Our roads are getting worse and worse.

So after some OEM trials and errors (tried a few different photoshops of different OEM wheels)…this is what I settled with.

18" Nissan 350Z Anniversary Edition Wheels. Can be had on a budget (around $1000 for tires and wheels). Thoughts?

My stock specs are:

Size: 18x8
Offset: +47mm
Weight: ~25lbs
Tire: 245/45/18

350Z specs:

Size: 18x8.5
Offset: +33mm
Weight: 25.8
Tire: 245/45/18

Problem is, they are staggered so I will have to find two sets of rear rims as staggered is not advised on the AWD M. It’s either that or just buy another set of my OEM rims that aren’t bent.

They would look pretty good on their. What about the g35 wheels that have more of a lip on em?

These?

Let me do a quick chop.

Here are those:

How about getting your current wheels repaired?

i say the g35 wheels, do a slight drop too, nothing that will effect the ride quality but will just make it look good, cause you might say your done with modifying car, but if you were u wouldn’t be even thinking about getting different wheels, u would just put on another set of stock wheels.

It’s going to cost a couple hundred, might as well just get a “new” used set for another hundred or so that wasn’t previously repaired lol.

Nah, the thing with the drop isn’t money (the springs for my car are like $400 - no biggie), it’s the work involved. This car as a different type of rear setup. The spring is separate from the shock. It looks like it will be a pain. And I really don’t want to pay someone 2-3hrs of labor at $100/hr to install them.

Basically…I’m too lazy to do it myself :lol.

EDIT: The G35 wheels come staggered too looks like. Damn. Gonna be hard to find 2 sets of mint ones as well.

The G35 wheels look the best IMO.

Asking as the tire is the same size you are fine… I think.

Radius needs to be same size all around I know that

IMO the Z wheels look loads better. The G wheels look effing gaudy and out of place on the car, too ricey.

Also, your suspension setup (where springs are located) is no different from the G/Z setup, as well as most BMWs.

3rd

G35 wheels make your car look like a G35.
At least go semi-exciting and find some Nismo 350Z/370Z wheels.

Yeah, I was thinkin bout the Nismo wheels. Can’t seem to find a good deal on em. You mean the multi spoke ones?

I like the Z ones above loads better as well Cossey. All I know is, I need find a set of OEM wheels.

I really would rather not drop though. I’m okay with the gap…I have moments where I’m not, but for the most part I’ve accepted it and that this car isn’t going to be anything more than a luxury liner DD.

350Z NISMO; might look odd with the NISMO logo on the wheel when its on your car.

370Z NISMO; concave looks awesome.

I was thinkin these:

I’ll probably end up doing the first set above though. I like them the most. I have a weakness for 5 spoke wheels…plus, those above give off the look that the 19" M-Sports do, for half the price.

Those last ones are Altama SER Nismo rims aren’t they?

I like the stock ones to be honest

TE-37 bandwagon. im on it.

Somethin like that. Although I think in the Maxima community they are referred to as “R34 Nismos” I believe.

And who knows, maybe I’ll stay stock. I just gotta find a good deal. For some retarded reason, M OEM wheels (18 or 19) are $$$. It’s stupid.

The Maxima community is retarded.

I haven’t been there in a while, but I’m pretty sure that’s what I recall them being referred to as.

EDIT: Just found a FS thread for a set…they are called ‘Nismo Rays 34’ (they are made by Rays Engineering). I was close. Rays 34, R34…who cares? :lol
