Finally getting out of buffalo

I dunno if saying that moving to a place that has a possibility of getting hit by a hurricane is better than a place that has shitty weather 7 months out of the year is really a valid argument. Especially if you’re renting. If you rent an apartment you pay $100 in renters insurance for 6 months and just get the fuck out if a hurricane is coming. I do agree that Buffalo and Rochester aren’t horrible places and do have a lot to offer people but I dunno if the weather is one of those things unless you really like being cold.

Renters insurance in a high hurricane risk is not $100 every 6 months, i was paying like $400 every 6 months

oh and you won’t be back if you don’t want to be, 6 months is not a good time frame to see if you actually like a place, well unless its FL

Your idea of shitty weather might be anothers nice weather.

I love four seasons, no hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, or excessive heat and droughts.

I’m leaving Buffalo, but not the climate. Vermont next summer. :tup:

Only other place I could see myself moving to would be SLC, Colorado, or the Pacific Northwest.

snow=fun driffto
snow=skiing!
snow=indoor soccer
hurracains= rain, rain, rain!, and a stolen stanley cup!

To be honest, I love Rochester and Buffalo. But Like you said, if you dont like snow and 7 shitty months, its not worth it.

I actually enjoyed the “do everything outdoorsy you’ve ever wanted to” part of SLC. The conservative nature of Utah does tend to suck though. If I ever lived back there, it would be in Park City. That place rocks.

Hah, I’d fit right in out there as I’m usually in bed by 11pm nearly every night.

Not much a partier or drinker.

then it would be a good place for you, considering your user name. the skiing out there…well, there’s no frame of reference on the East coast, IMO

Absolutely. And being close to Moab for Mountain Biking… :tup:

I’ll be done with school in a few years, with a B.S. in Resort Management.

We shall see where life takes me at that point, but next summer, and then for the subsequent 3 years, I’ll be living in Rutland, VT.

Good luck holmes, write often :tup:

Buffalo averages 54 sunny/clear days in 1 year

enjoy Carolina

Buffalo is pure shit. I’m home for 5 more days, and I can’t wait to go back to Wilmington. People are rude, there’s no beach

GIRLS ARE UGLY HERE

hybrid did some work to my gf’s car, that was cool :slight_smile:

holy crap is that my avatar? bout time :tup:

best of luck joe, we’ll have to chill at some point while you’re down there. did you get the coolant issue figured out?

I’ve lived in 4 different states and I must say this is the best place I’ve ever lived. I don’t plan on leaving, the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.

But good luck and have fun!

And i likey

As far as living here…

At some point I would like to move just to have a fresh start but for now i’m happy here.

It took like 15 hours to get here, because of the moving truck not being able to maintain speed up the hills and having to stop because we have 2 puppies.
Everyone says the hurricanes… My brother in-law said that by the time the huricanes get to this area its just like any other rain storm like in buffalo but the insureance is still expensive.
some of the reasons why I think I’m going to like it here:
2.5 hours away are some really nice ski resorts which would blow away KB and Holiday combined… and cheaper too.
2.5 hours away is the ocean if I feel like salt water
4 Hours away is Atlanta, I’d like to go to NOPI
In SC, no tint laws, no safty/emission inspections, DMV is way better and faster, no front plate, I’ll be able to drive my car all year around… so more autoX events to attend
Its 92 outside right now… but still feels more comfortable than 82 in buffalo
I may move back… but I just want to check out a new area for now

I’d bite the tongue on that.

Appallachian Mountain in NC has a kicking park, but they ski on basically ALL man-made snow, as natural snowfall is quite low there and have subpar snow conditions.

But glad you like it down there though!
