if the apple wasnt on it, I’d agree
seriously though… cool notebook  even if it’s is a mac lol
yah - but this apple runs winXP - and runs it better than most PC lappies.
No other 13" runs 3 different OSes.
christ, that black one is ill. i haven’t been on the mac tip in a minute, they really run OS X.x, XP, and a third OS?
what’s the third OS? linux?
the three major OSes are WinXP, OS X (which incidentally is a unix based OS), and any variation of Linux / *nix.
Apple recently beta released “Boot Camp”, which allows for side by side install of Win XP on the new Intel based Apples. Numerous benchmarks have found that the MacBook Pro runs WinXP the faster than any other intel duo core laptop.
yeah when it doesnt crash.
lol just when you thought XP couldnt get any less stable
Your mac crashes? Sorry to hear that… When I had my desktop I’d consistantly have uptime’s of 60+ days… and the only reason it wasn’t years was because I’d do updates etc.
If you are basing your mac crashing issues on school comptuers, then dont. Kuz any comptuer in a school environment with ppl putting all sorts of whathaveyou on it. My laptop has not crashed once since I got it… Oh well… to each their own.
XP on Mac Intel machines are experiencing abnormally high # of crashes? Really? I didn’t know that - any links to substaniate your claims?
yeah, i had an old G3 iBook and a crash was unheard of and a program freeze happened maybe twice in the 3 years i had it.
that black one is goddamn sexy. has anyone seen the new apple commercial. its these two guys, one is a mac and one is pc. and theyre talking about their similarities and stuff, then the pc guy just stops talking for like 20 seconds, then starts talking back at the beginning. the mac guy is like, “we already said that man.”, pc guy is like, “yeah i had to restart.” haha then he keeps freezing and the mac guy is making fun of him. i got a chuckle out of it.
EDIT: i suck at telling stories like that, just check it out: http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/
Bootcamp is shit right now. Like they said, if you think windows is glitchy alone, you will want to plunge off a cliff using bootcamp.
Ok - this is the second post in this thread making such a claim - but I have yet to run across these stability issues. Can someone post links to this widespread issue?
I only have some hands on experince… granted this was about 3 weeks ago using the beat that was out. I dont know if anyhting new has been released, I just got back in town last night.
actually… I used mac’s in college (graphic design) and they’re not really as bad as I rip on them for. They’re decent machines… no better/worse than a PC (as far as speed/reliability goes… from my own experiance).
Only real drawback is, and the reason I’ll never buy one, because of parts/software limitations.
love 'em or hate 'em… they have NOWHERE near the kind of 3rd party support that a PC does. Reminicent of Tandy computers
