and a fair amount of the money for the new multipurpose facility is dependent on tax revenue from casinos. Casinos that haven’t been in existence for more than 3 months. All of these projected revenues that were thrown around in the discussions are probably crap, and we will just be taxed to cover a bad projection.
WV is exploring table gaming in a bill that was proposed about 2 weeks ago. If that goes through, it’s going to be even harder for the pa slots parlors to meet that projection.
As was stated, pittsburgh has more problems in drawing concerts than an old arena. Union wages and taxes cut into a promoter’s bottom line more than the lack of a sweet ass stadium…
